This is just a heads up notice for those intrepid travellers to Montreal.
Was in Montreal last Thursday evening and arrived very late at Cleopatras.
My buddy Alain, Barman Extraordinaire was not at his usual post at the front bar but rather in Mexico on vacation.
His first night back was the Friday evening.
I did not connect the dots that the following evening was Fetish Night but it was pretty late and I was tired .
I went back Friday evening as there is usually a great crowd Friday evenings but was denied entry at the door
as I was not dressed in Black.
I said I was happy to pay their entrance fee but the answer was still No.
I went downstairs to the strip bar and had a beer with Peter the other Barman as I always do when I visit.
Johnny who owns the club arrived and I explained my plight and said I wanted to use the back stairs as I have done on previous occasions over the years on Halloween evenings when things really get nuts at Cleo's.
I explained as one of his long time customers that I was indeed pissed at being denied entry.
He explained to me that he cater's to the Fetish group as they will push up to three hundred patrons thru there on Fetish night and in fact will kiss their ass as he said, in order to accommodate their wishes.
After he explained the situation I said I respected his position as he cannot afford to lose that kind of revenue.
So all that to say my friends, that every other Friday evening is Fetish Night and there is a dress code so be warned.
