Wow, chalk one up for diversity. I knew there was a lot but I had no idea it was that common. That's really cool. It's embarrassingly naive to think you might be gay for admiring shemales. In fact, being attracted to shemales would completely contradict the reason for being gay, since their appearance is clearly and intentionally female. Of course, I do draw the line at what is passable and what is, well, something I would not want to wake up next to with a hangover. I guess it also helps that many Thais can be aesthetically androgynous. Generally though, I view shemales as just another type of female. You have chicks with big tits, chicks with big asses, chicks with dicks etc. I use the term shemale because it's associated with pre-op transsexuals, as I personally have no interest in post-op. Just my 2 cents.

Well Thais are fairly adrogenous compared to North Americans. Being Gay is not as much of a stigma over there but often being a ladyboy seems to be preferred to being gay. However I do not think as many men identify as gay in Thailand since being bisexual is not a big deal, so you don't have to make a choice and label yourself.

Unfortunately some thai boys are brought up as girls from birth as many feel girls are more valuable that boys. Girls are the ones that are supposed to do all the work in the home and also tend to find better employment, not just a labourer.

Not too many years ago I found myself to be very interested in the local transgendered community. I have often wondered why there seems to be such a disproportionate number of Thai girls in the TG community as a whole, not necesssarily only in Toronto, but everywhere. Now the reason is much more clear to me - it is a cultural phenomenon of that region.

Does the same phenomenon also exist in other parts of the world I now wonder?

In bangkok got so many shemales!!! But if u guys go to any clubs over there..please do not pay more than 1000baht for one shemales..
Usuallym the mamasan (boss) will ask u to pay 500baht before taking her out, but in the room u only pay less than500.. altogether 1000baht. BUT most transexual will demand MORE.. so..dont get cheated..

I was fortunate enough to spend some time in Thailand. But I've noticed with the shemales there, there's nothing in the middle. I'm meaning that they are extremely passable, just jaw-dropping gorgeous! And then you'll have ones that don't seem to be all "fuln" with the transformation, so to speak, i.e. didn't shave, no make-up...

But, yeah, Thailand is great and the majority of the shemales there are absolutely stunning!

Well depending where you are u can get a way with 500 baht in Thailand, like maybe Pattaya. I think 1000 baht is probably a little more the going rate in Bangkok. Plus u have a better time if u are not a total cheapskate. Inflation is hitting Thailand too.
Most of the ladyboys don't even say a price, they just hope for the best.

I think thai men are more convincing naturally due to low hair, feminine looks ect, therefore it is an option for gay thai's just to become a tgirl and get more guys that way.
