  • Looking for gym buddy Hamilton area

Hey gang, Im looking to start back in the gym and start my training again to compete. I am hoping to find a experienced gym buddy as I want to start lifting heavier then I was last year. Please no wanna bees. I take this very seriously and it can be dangerous. I will need someone who also trains and knows what they are doing to avoid another mishap in the gym and screw myself up again. I can switch gyms if needed
I have a opportunity to compete please serious inquires only

Just the Hamilton area hon? Or are you willing to come across the Atlantic... Then we'll able to kick some butt 2gether in the gym and you'll teach me how to be a lady like you *smile*

Shelby, a training partner is not necessary for success. A solid game plan of continuously attenuated progressive resistance, superb nutrition, and adequate rest, between workouts, and sleep are mandatory.

To me, a training partner is nothing more than a source of extra weight to stand on top of "light" weight stacks, an addition of force on heavy negatives, someone to help load 45s and 100s on Olypmic bars, or an occassional spot.

Of course, only because I'm extremely self-motivated, and take each and every set to absolute failure, do I feel that way.

Having a training partner also rules out the instinctive element. Let's say It's Monday, you're both scheduled to hit Chest and biceps, except that your first warmup set on the bench feels like a work set! You're definitely not ready to do chest, even though the paper says so. Your training partner HAS to do his chest so chest it is, you have a subpar workout, and make serious inroads into your recuperation, what's the choice?

Without a partner, if you intend to do chest and the bodypart just isn't ready, either leave and come back tomorrow or do something else!

Scheduling is good, but strict adherence to schedule regardless of circumstances can seriously halt your progress.

I think that before you sign on with a training partner, you should seek mentoring. Someone very experienced with all levels and types of training regimes that can confer with you and advise you as to how to achieve your goals in specific planned areas.
