Technically I think the drinking age there is 21 but never would they ask for ID.
Anyone any age can go in the bars I think but not necessarily drink.
You should ask the girls to see their ID so you know they are 18 which is the age of consent.

Well you can find that girl on the left at Obsessions bar.
Usually the opposite problem in Thailand is where you think you are getting pussy but end up with a ladyboy.

Not to doubt your smarts but Thailand is a whole other world and until you've been there – you cannot possibly imagine what it's like. Tourists can go to Thailand and if they treat it like home, can live to forget it. I actually got a ticket from a cop for butting out a cigerette on the street.....Was trying to charge me 2000baht......I think i ended paying 200baht....I thought it was abit of a scam but he was in unigorm and had a kiosk, to write me up....
I tried to walk away and ignore him....but he grabbed me. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet. I payed and was thankful i talked him down.

Good advice. I know in the regular bars that if you have a girl sit with you and do not choose to pay her bar fine to take her to your hotel, then it is better to move on to another bar. If you choose another girl to sit with after already spending time with someone else, you have shamed the first one and trouble will start.

I did not see a cop in Nana Plaza area ever and smoked everywhere.
Sounds like you may have been in Patpong where there is a tourist police kiosk.
Patpong is a much buiser commercial tourist area, more ripoffs and scams.
The streets are actually amazingly clean there for what you would think in that part of Bangkok.
Just do not have anything to do with drugs and keep your wits about you.

Here are typical rates....

2 hours (short time) 1000 to 2500 baht (she is advertising 6000 baht)
Overnight (long time) 1500 to 3500 baht (she is advertising 10,000 baht)
