Navigating the gender journey can be both empowering and emotionally exhausting. Many of us deal with pressure from society, misunderstandings from people around us, or simply the weight of trying to become the most authentic version of ourselves. In the early stages of my transition, I often felt overwhelmed. Even small interactions could make me anxious, and I didn’t always know how to calm my mind.
Over time, I learned that taking care of mental health is just as important as any physical step in transitioning. One habit that helped me a lot was creating small “mental breaks” throughout the day—short moments where I could disconnect from worries and just breathe. Some people meditate, others journal, and sometimes I just distract myself with something light and fun. Recently, I’ve been playing a simple mini-game called Slice Master . It’s nothing complicated, but it gives my brain a few minutes of peace, which surprisingly helps reset my mood.
Everyone’s coping method is different, and there’s no right or wrong way to care for yourself. What matters is finding something that helps you feel grounded, even on tough days. I hope this little tip encourages someone else to explore their own ways of de-stressing. And if you have your own techniques that help you stay centered, I’d love to hear them!
