  • Journey to Weight Loss, Day 1

So sitting in my hotel room in Vegas when I glance in the mirror and see something and someone I am not happy with. *I’ve always been a bigger boned, taller, thicker gal but I’ve let ME and my body go to hell and I finally am tired of it and I will need all of your support and encouragement. *I am 6’1 and weigh 225 pounds, and my goal weight will be 175. *I’m in Vegas for AVN and seeing all the beautiful younger talent so thin and glamorous really caused my ego and feelings to take a big WAKE UP!
This is NOT one of those New Year resolutions because I do that with other things in my life all year long and three months later I’m done. *I am in NO way trying to become skinny or be a super model at 42 LOL, I just want to be a healthier weight and lose this belly.
Today I am cutting out all soda, fast food and snacks. *Traveling does make it hard but I can always choose items on the menu instead of fries and a hamburger. *Soda will be a big hurdle but I have done it before and will do it again. * Until I decide to get a personal trainer I will begin getting my body use to exercising by *walking on the treadmill. *Today I did 30 minutes increasing my incline and speed each 10 minutes. *I was able to do 7 laps, 31 minutes and burn 134 calories. * Tonight before bed I will hit it again, though the next week will be busy with shoots, convention and networking I am committed to having a better body and feeling better SOON.
    Love
    Wendy

50 pounds is an awesome goal Wendy! It is possible to achieve and still have a wonderful life with the right food and good drink and lots of vigorous exercise! The soda and processed fast foods are the biggest problems for most people. A person can eat good quantities of food if it is the right foods, there is no need to starve or be miserable. (the myth of living on salads is bunk..... ) You may have some issues coming off the sugar from regular soda drinking (headaches, trouble sleeping, agitation, etc..........), or have cravings or "crashes" by cutting out the fast food....however that will pass if you keep your resolve.

it is very difficult to eat right when travelling. However, most places have nice vegan dishes, chicken breasts or a nice lean steak (if you enjoy eating animal protein), veggies, things like that.

Working up a good sweat and burning energy during exercise is needed. Starting on a treadmill is a good start.
