Moving to a new city is honestly one of the hardest ways to build a social life, so don't feel like you're behind if it takes time. What helped me was picking a couple of recurring activities instead of trying something different every weekend. A local gym, a running club, and a weekly trivia night meant I started seeing the same faces regularly, and those casual conversations slowly turned into friendships.

I'd also say yes to invitations, even if they don't sound that exciting at first. Some of my best connections came from a random coffee or a small group meetup that I almost skipped.

If you're hoping to date as well, it helps to use platforms where you can actually browse people in your city instead of matching with people miles away. I've been using Flircy because it works right in the browser and lets you browse by city and shared interests, so I was meeting people nearby without needing to install another app: https://flircy.com/en.

Whatever approach you take, give it a little time. Building a network in a new city rarely happens in a week, but if you stay consistent and keep showing up, things usually start to fall into place.
