Northern Ontario is a long haul, it is freakin' beautiful but a long drive.
Gas stations aren't even open late because no one drives on the hwy at night.
Thunder bay is fairly big tho and i thought i have seen posters here from there.
Winnipeg has many hotels, the have the most by the airport
from there it is wide open to Regin or Saskatoon either is about 6 hours from Winnipeg.
Edmonton thru Saskatoon from winnipeg is probably the fastest.
Saskatoon to Edmonton is about 6 hours.
Similar to Toban's route.
It is 2 lanes and 110km from sask border to edmonton (or calgary)
Calgary is about 2hour drive south from Edmonton.
However the drive from Alberta to Vancouver is at least 12 hours.
It is a long hard drive through the mountains.
This time of year you can hit snow storms and road closures.
Most likely you would have to stop along the way in Revelstoke or Salmon arm.
You might want to just do the circuit
Toronto - sudbury - thunder bay -winnipeg - saskatoon - edmonton - calgary - regina - winnipeg - Toronto.
The vancouver drive is better when it is much warmer, and less dangerous.
Let me know your plans maybe we can hook up along the way somewhere.
Not sure where i'll be.
