    Tolerance In This World

Neither the Pope, the Dalai-Lama, the head Rabbi of Jewish faith, the Muslim religious clerics, the leader of Anglican and Orthodox church (who all condemned this alternative lifestyle) Doesn't deserve to be shot or killed, nor any human being for that matter, who happens to have their own religious convictions.

Matthew Sheppard was killed because of hate and intolerance.

Innocent staff at Morgentaler clinic were shot and killed because of hate and intolerance.

Salman Rushdie's life is still under threat, because of hate and intolerance.

Yesterday two Iraqi gay man were shot in the head, because of hate and intolerance.

If hatred, intolerance and violence is all we could think about everytime there are people who spoke and doesn't approved of our existence and who doesn't believe we have a right to exist, then maybe this violent world is what we deserved.

i beg to differ,i do believe in vigilanties an eye for an eye sorta speak,i dont have a problem with someone taking another life as long as its justified etc. child molesters rapest drunk drivers who kill, the dalie lama and yes the pope and whoever preaches there patethic non sence.the pope is no different then david caresh and the branch davidian, non of then have first hand knowledge on a bible that was written and they all have there different interpretations, religeon is for weak minded people who feel the need to follow and not lead.

I was raised devoutly Catholic. Then I used the brain 'God' gave me and learned critical thought and reasoning. Then he was gone.

          the real feelings

i know this is a touchy subject. we have often heard the old saying dont talk about religion, politics and so and we will all get along fine.

my reality was best described by john lennon in 'what ever get you thru the nite'

i will say this i think that the power of prayer is a reality in that those that use it probably create a positive energy, perhaps they somehow can touch the 'cosmic' power and thus 'god' delivers. it doesnt matter either so those that do believed get some comfort from their faith.

i am not a fan of major religions that require us to bow down to god in supplication and those that officially represent those relgions can use that to in effect enslave you to their will. i prefer my own thoughts and rationality, if i am wrong then God will tell me about it when i next meet him/her/it.

we just have to accept each other for what we are and enjoy the miracle that we all are for if we are. we are all wonderful beings.

I too am a recovering catholic. The guilt, fear and intolerance was force-fed to me from birth. Luckily I was able to escape the cycle and stopped it with my own kids. They were brought up to be tolerant yet sceptical of those who pertain to "know". If people derive some comfort from prayer or whatever rituals they like far be it from me to deny them that freedom as long as they afford me the same right to believe in scientific rationalism.

I agree with one amendment...I think people can believe whatever they like as long as decisions they make, based on their religious beliefs, do not affect me at all. i.e. I don't care if politicians go to church and pray and have a firm belief in god, or fairies for that matter, so long as the political decisions they make are not based on that belief.

Religious faith isn't some benign entity that can exist without serious consequences you know !
Religions are bedrock foundations for large blocks of perceived morality dispositions.
And each major religion indoctrinates their young into extending that moral disposition out to every aspect of the common world community at large. We are talking about value systems here that effect the rest of the globe.

So please don't tell me that your religious brainwashing doesn't have anything to do me or others. Because when added to the matrix of human socialization as a whole, your one single drop of dementia along with all the others put together, can build a real monster of an impact on the rest of us, who don't want to play that game.

We are talking about value systems here. And these value systems are a real substantive plague on the world in so many ways.
Values are about priorities. And when large groups of brainwashed people start pushing the weight of their priorities around, a lot of areas of real importance can become impacted. Or for that matter unfairly or improperly ignored.

Remember to think about this now . . . . " Most of the environmental problems we have now, resulted from our Western societies behaviour, based on Western society values. Like I said earlier, those distorted values sprang from the seeds of their religious dogmas. Dogmas who's priorities fell way short of what was needed to protect us from ourselves.

Because in the beginning religion was just some fantastic story telling with an objective towards keeping the collective community in reasonable check. And a way to deal with death and the fear of it, while controlling the behaviour of large groups of people by a privileged few. Religion is basically political in nature not spiritual. Spirituality is something that is ever growing and can never be contained within the limits of these various dogmas that now control most of the world.

Values control intent . . . that was supported by desires . . . . originally skewed by the deep penetration of dogmatic propaganda.

Religious propaganda that's usually inflicted on the innocents of children at such a young age it should really be against the law.

If you want to change the world you must start with the children.

People down through history like the Pope for example, knew this.
That's their MO. So if you've been brainwashed and are now aware of it, then you should consider the evil predatory nature of those who sacked your individuality, and rid yourself of the pollutant as best you can.

You just have to know if what your believing is wrong and evil or good and humane.

Every religious beliefs or indoctrinations produce vicious and wicked individuals, such as those radicals who murdered innocent civilians in the 9-11 attack in the name of their God, but not all Muslim population has the same distorted beliefs, infact majority are peace loving people and doesn't condone violence.

6 millions jew were annihilated because of one man's hatred against a certain race. And majority of Catholics in this world condemned that action by their fellow Catholics and many good people in the church aided a lot of Jews who seeks their santuaries, and acknowledged that the church hierarchy didn't do all it can to stop that carnage and already apologized for that lapse in judgement.

A number of civilian employee of abortion clinic were killed because of the convoluted belief that it's God's wishes to eradicate the people who are practicing this, not only the Doctors, but the entire staff who works for him.

Klu Klas Klan wants to rid this world of all the colored people, not only black. Not because of their religious or spritual belief, but more of improper upbringing and parental misguidance.

And by and large most people born in a certain beliefs, spirituality or religious convictions are proven to be more open minded, kind, tolerant and loving human being and most of us are not a blind followers, we can decipher what/who is right and what/who is wrong.

We don't deny that there are fanatics on every corner of the world. But that doesn't count out the majority who see the world as it is and already are accepting of people's skin color, sexual orientation, individualities, and religious background or none, even if the leader of their church oppose it. As long as you can recognize what are true evil and what are the goodness your heart can afford or extend to your fellowmen and know the purpose of every human life on this earth, sans religion, indoctrination or religious leaders invocations.

I am just proud to be brought up by a loving christian and happy people who loves thy neighbor, regardless of their sexual orientation, race , affiliation or religion and teaches me to respect the rights of others and I will never renounce the faith I was born into, 'coz, it moulded me to be a good person as I can be and even if it's not a perfect religion and more rehabilitation has to be done, as long as it doesn't condone violence and continue it's gospel of compassion and LOVE.

And... HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!!! Believer's or none.

It's just that I have faith in all human being and I don't blame all the bad things that's happening in this world on one particular sect, group of people or religion. As I said no one is perfect. You seems to have a lot of hatred on everything you see in this world, but it's okay, maybe what you believe or what you don't believe will deliver you great happiness and even if I didn't know you I would be happy just to know your happy and your gifts and talent with what your doing (like your paintings or photography?) will give you solace and peace. I'm wishing you the best in life and may you find true love as well, even if your not looking for one.

And I'm wishing you HAPPY EASTER just the same.

what is being tossed around is the warping of religious beliefs and actions. when has there ever been a war where god was not on both sides? the 'universal soldier'. yes we have the moral responsability not engage in evil actions and to help each other. what we are seeing in the world now is a swing to the negative side of our humanity. it is only us that can preevent this. actions are required. we need to be more loving more giving etc.

i think the industrial revolution had more to do with a poisoned earth than religion.

we have become greedy as a species and are detroying the world with it.

                              we must change.
                              according to some, not trangendered

                                ...

In the end there really is no "correct" faith. What is important is you just "have" faith.

Have faith in all things you do.
                                Have faith in others.

                                O.k. I'm done.
