  • What is the HIV/AIDS rate of trans escorts?

    Consider these facts:
“In 2019, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS estimated a mean HIV prevalence of 36% among sex workers”

“Worldwide, 19.1% of transgender women are living with HIV.

    • In the US, 21.6% of transgender women are living with HIV.”

If 1 in 3 Transwomen are living with HIV. What about the trans women who engage in sex work?

In my opinion PrEP has encouraged a lot more unsafe practices in the society, and therefore the ones who engage in BB services are basically asymptomatic superspreaders.
The stats will be growing exponentially, unfortunately.

I thought PrEP is only provided if you don't habe HIV?

Stop spreading misinformation. Prep protects against HIV. It doesn’t protect against other STIs but when you’re on prep, yoh have to go through regular testing and they won’t give you a new prescription unless you come back clean against all the other sti’s

I was under this impression. Is it all STIs or just HIV?

PrEP just protects against HIV. I didn’t know you had to be clear of other STIs to get your prescription renewed so a provider on PrEP is theoretically STI free? Assuming they are being truthful about things. Providers who share results is good. If you assume a provider has every known STI and act accordingly, you’re good.

Unfortunately, there will never be an STI vaccine. Too much money to be made from treatment, not prevention.

At the time of a PREP prescription renewal, a person gets a full spectrum set of STI tests. However, if the results are clear they can still pick up an STI in the time between their next renewal. While PREP is incredibly effective in preventing HIV, you should still assume that condoms should be used.

Agreed. I think the same way. What about that period between testing and now. Just be safe. Especially for the married guys…pretty difficult to explain an STI to your wife.
