    All is well

Just a quick update to say that everything went fine. I've been recovering at home for the last few days, taking things very easy. Between all the I've been enjoying (plus the occasional percocet!) it's been a breeze so far. I was a bit sore on day two, and I'm still pretty swollen now, but that's to be expected. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow, and I'll find out more once we've talked.

The surgeon did an excellent job, but the final result will depend just as much on my aftercare routine; so, I'll take as long as I need before I go back to my normal activities. In the meantime, I'm just lounging around while my loving partner nurses me back to health.

Thanks to all the well-wishers, and I'll be happy to toss up a couple of pics when everything has settled into place.

That is good to hear Nikki.

Glad that you feel that things went well and waiting for the proof to be shown! Incidentally, as you have found out the second day after surgery has historically, been the worst. Probably from the surgical pain meds wearing off.

Well, the swelling is gone, the stitches are out, and sensation is already starting to return. According to my doctor, everything is exactly as it should be, and the operation was a complete success!

I've been massaging these babies like crazy (with a little help from my partner, of course! ) and they've softened up nicely. The cohesive-gel silicone feels so much better than saline! It's been strange adjusting to my new "dimensions" - especially when reaching across my body - but they don't feel uncomfortable, just unfamiliar. It feels like they've already bonded perfectly with my own breast tissue, as if they've always been there; they feel like they're a part of my own body, rather than a foreign object that's been implanted under my skin.

In short, everything's going great, and I'm healing faster than expected. I might stop by Goodhandy's sometime next week to show them off!

Cheers to everyone who sent out positive vibes - I felt them as soon as I woke up from the anaesthetic.

Or maybe it was all that morphine they gave me?

Oh, and for all those who are interested, pics will be coming soon!
