Whether MJ was guilty of sexual misconduct will be debated endlessly. What is known, and was never contested my MJ is that he used his wealth and fame to convince parents to allow their eight year old boys to sleep over with MJ, in his bed.

Even if he never touched them, that is still uber-creepy, and should never have been allowed to happen.

MJ aside, and in all seriousness, > > > >

      > > > > the reason I respond to your post, though it is in opposition to my own post in this thread, is to commend you for your very thoughtful, thorough and well considered response to LadyMK.

Your well thought-out post clearly shows that you possess abundant compassion and an deep understanding of the populace and humankind.
In my opinion, with an outlook like yours you have what it takes to become a judge. Sunshine, have you ever considered law as a profession? With you sitting on the bench, I'd be happy to appear before you!

I'd like to have included your complete post here for those who need a refresher but that would be an overload. It is directly below for easy access in any case any one needs to refer to it.

Now that is a funny picture - the honourable judge Sunshine hearing case #12345 The people vs Michael Jackson. thank you for giving me a good chuckle. No really, I have never thought of a career in Law. As a matter of fact, I am rather of the opinion that people should not be regulated at all unless they do harm to others. This post is interesting because it puts instark justaposition our conflicted principles and ideas. I'm glad we are talking about it in the open but that is all we can really do - talk. I don't think there is a solution to conflict. Maybe there isn't even a real problem except when we try to impose our views on others or when we expect our views to be considered as fact. It is scary to admit that the Truth is elusive and evades our efforts to define it. But it is honest to admit that the meaning we ascribe to things is only that - a quality that is a function of our own perception and not something inherant in the thing itself. A tree is a tree. The way we feel about the tree does not exist within the tree, only in us.

I posted here because it brought back the post about attacks that I had commented on the other day.

Actually, my understanding of the trial was that he was accused, by a child who was pretty much told what to say. Reason being is that the same child later said MJ never touched him. And again, if my child was molested, NO amount of money would make
me disappear. Can you really put a price on your child's well-being?
Also not convicted also doesn't mean he was guilty and got away with it either. It just seems that people are really quick to condemn MJ. And yes, it is still creepy that he slept in the same bed as children, even if he didn't touch them.

Me too - if someone had molested my child, I would insist on the person being charged and tried. Money would not have any part of it. Maybe these people were after the money and created a scenario that would get them money. Also, MJ was investigated for months by the police. Nothing came of it. I will never know what the truth is. It seems very odd to me that MJ publicly admitted to sleeping with other people's children in his bed. But then, the entire Neverland Ranch seems over the top to me. And then what about waving the baby over the railing? Was that really a cultural thing? I think I can assert that he was a very eccentric person. By all accounts, he was a very troubled and lonely person as well. With all his money, he was able to create a world around himself that was designed to compensate for what he was missing. He was attacked for it and suffered critisism and scorn. I think I'm going to let him rest now. Thank you for the nice thread everybody. And thank you MJ for the music and the inspiration.

As far back as I could remember, Michael has always been the centre of media controvasy. Growing up, probably every possible rumor you could think of, the media said it about him. Michael is gay, Michael's getting a sex change, Michael to buy the bones of the elephant man, Michael sleeps in an oxygen chamber, Micheal only eats peanuts, Michael bleaches his skin, Michael is child molesting. The list goes on and on. No one truly knows if any of it was true. that's why the media dubbed him wacko Jacko. The fact of the matter is no one but Michael himself, knew who he was. Regardless of the alleged abuse Joe put him through, he made him and that family who they are. Other wise Micheal may have been just a nobody from Gary Indiana. One old woman from Gary said " At least someone from here made something of themselves. His sister Latoya has always been jealous of her siblings for earning their fame. Seriously, what has she done to earn that fame. Say nasty things for attention! She stood up on Oprah and said her skin has always been white.
I do agree Michael sharing a bed with boys was inappropiate for a man his age. Never the less, I would not trade places with him to have his loniless and fame. I could never imagine what never being able to walk down the street or run to the store must be like. All the money in the world could not buy a normal life. Micheal Jackson was a Prodigy , like a modern day Mozart. Greatness has always been the center of controvesy , From Jesus Christ to Columbus. They all died young and unhappy.
I will always remember and love Michael for his humanitarian works that touch the lives of millions and for his legacy that fascinated both me and millions around the world. God Bless him and may he RIP.

I don't think it will be GOD blessing him. Sorry for those who continue to believe that poor Michael has been a victim of the media. What could possibly justify him having children stay over and sleep in the same bed? You people really believe he never touched them? He jsut wanted there company / friendship. Denial is a beautiful thing. He's proven that money can buy anything (even a parent to sell out their child). I hope it can't buy himself a place in heaven.

hi , so your saying its quite ok for others to spread rumours on here about anyone basically as i have never seen proof or a guilty judgement against him for child molestation, hence its rumours.

I'm repulsed by the cult of celebrity.

Here's to Leo Mol, http://www.partnersinthepark.org/leomol.html a great Canadian sculptor who passed away on Saturday at the age of 94. He was as much an artist as Michael Jackson (of course in a different medium), but not a celebrity and as such no one will talk about him, there will be no paparazzi, no media frenzy, no hystrionics of mourners who'd never met him...but those who appreciate the art and not the celebrity will remember.

I know that when I shed tears today on this memorial for him, that it isn't just for his death, it's more because of the people who lost someone they care for and love no matter what. It's also the reason why I request for people to hold their judgement and to refrain from expressing their contempt for the person who just died, for the sake of the people who loves him and to be respectful of their loss, without justifying what he did or didn't do.
