as conception we are all non gendered until the mothers body injects testosterone. this is the physical gender defining time. transgendered from birth means you intimately know you are in the wrong body from the core of your being.
Kris - I hope you do not feel that I am picking on you here today, it's just that I happen to see things that I feel are very misleading, though I stand to be corrected about my opinions.

Within seconds after conception (the moment a sperm penetrates the egg sac) the chromosomes carried by the egg and the sperm are melded and the single cell remaining begins to divide to form the new being. Now, this single cell has received one copy of each chromosome as carried by the egg and one carried by the sperm, the male contributing either an X or Y, the female always an X. Sex is determined at this time.

The sex organs do not develop for several months and the androgen (testosterone) causing the male features to develop are caused entirely from within because of the activity intitiated by that "Y" chromosome. It does not come from the mother.

Here's a good animation showing how sexual differentiation takes place as the embryo develops.

absolutely not picked on at all.
it is important that we share information. it is how we learn, even at our ages. haha.

i remember seeing a film about this during my course. at some time during the pregnancy it is the mothers body that inserts the testosterone. the amount of the injection determines sexual organs. i will try to get you a copy of it to post.

Bisexuals are attracted to two sexes/genders(bi=two), but Pansexuals are attracted to all sexes/genders(pan=all). It's pretty much just a personal choice to define yourself however you feel you are. I feel that there are more than two sexes/genders ultimately(Gender queer, two spirited, adrogyn, intersexed, etc.), and I'm attracted to them all, so I consider myself Pansexual.

we have MTF, and FTM, and a huge grey area that the umbrella covers.
I think some people forget that, when definitions come up. I personally am Transsexual, and Transgendered, but a Crossdresser is only Transgendered, and not Transsexual.

            exactly.
however a CD could also be Transensual, unlikely i think but folks are folks and the tastes are many.

i personally am transgendered, two spirited and transensual right now. but tastes change. i hadnt eaten thai food until a few weeks ago. it was good. coconut oil not so good for the ticker.

I'm glad you said that Lisa because I was going to. These words are all labels. They are not the thing itself. In addition to that, these words are efforts to categorized, or even marginalize people. Even the words male and female are just labels. What about intersexed people? They are both male and female or they are neither.

I think you make a good point Lisa - people are unique individual and no effort should be made to define them by sticking labels on them. You don't need the word, you need the person! If you fall in love with someone, it had better be the person and not the word that describes the person or the idea of the person.

As for orientation and sexual attraction, this may be a function of many influences working together. Again, it will be an orientation that is unique to each individual. As long as nobody gets hurt, live and let live is my motto.

i also agree with the 'label' issue. just be yourself etc.

unfortunately most people need the labels and their definitions in order to be able to communicate and understand. telepaths we are not. educational facilitators need words to define so we may understand issues, situations and so on.

the simple sentence 'i love you' has three labels in it. take away the labels and we have ' '.
