Movie: The Descent Aside from this, The Ring and The Grudge I really can not think of many horror movies released in the past decade that were truly moving and heart pounding. It seems that the general audience wants more comic relief now in horror flicks as I guess it just cant stand the boring formula of them. The Descent makes even the cynic happy as it brings in all the stops to frighten. Its, dark, its got its actors in a frenzy trying to not go insane in their predicament, it exploits "real" weaknesses i.e claustraphobia and even though there is no hope in survival against the monsters the writing does not at all go cliche and there are so many plot turns that the viewer cant help but be entertained. Yes even the screaming is not over the top. Forget the psychotic cannibal killer garbage. Watch this if you dare.

CD: Lloyd Banks - Horror Music Volume 1. Lloyd Banks is a hip hop dj who has been involved in the genre for about a decade. Not widely known he has started to create tunes for small independent labels. This cd is a collection of his hip hop work. Its all instrumental beats mixed in with horror sounds with steady drums and scratches throughout. Granted its an acquired taste but for those who want something different they may find it refreshing to actually go to a dance and be able to dance instead of just stand there pretending to like the ancient tune from over 45 years ago in "The Monster Mash".


Hey all. Well, it doesnt get much better than this. Octoborfest is soon approaching and the ever anticipated Halloween. I am getting so riled up for that weekend. One thing I don't like is the weather. With shorter days and cooler temps it doesn't make it any easier to get up early in the morning. Thanks again wellhungone for your contribution and rameses....please feel free to post if you wish. Don't feel discouraged in any way. Oooh. How I hope to see some sexy t women in school girl outfits or airline stewardess this Halloween.....oh man....Catwoman...I'd go crazy over that.

On a different note isn;t it somewhat saddening that after those Chileans miners were finally freed that all interest soon vanished? I mean, really, I understand politics and finance is big syuff globally but what about this story? Where is the follow up? Are they all healthy? Will they continue to work? What's even more shocking is 3 weeks ago i was talking to someone at work about the miners and a colleague said "What miners?" No joke, they knew nothing about them being trapped and what not. How can some people be so oblivious to world events is fascinating.


Wow. I've been so inspired to write and rant and n put out some ideas. I guess it all relates to what happened last week. Ok all. Thats it for now. I'll announce Miss October nest Sunday

I have corresponded with Christina online on occasion and have had a brief chat with her. What can I say? She is bubbly. She sounds like someone you could rely on. All in all a first impression of her would be like you could immediately confide in her. Chrsitina and I never discussed about her being represented on the calendar. I wanted to keep it a surprise.Now one thins I do know is that she loves Christina Aguilera and is an inhabitant of Hamilton. She may appear quiet and reserved but when important events come up she does give a solid opinion. Did I mention she is an animal lover? Ask her about her cats.

Movie: The Matrix It was the movie that introduced the "bullet time" effect and had us questioning our existence as also just how far could technology advance and what the pros and cons would be from it. A dark film where the human race is enslaved a la like The Terminator except humans dont know they are captives in a cyber world until finally "The One" is revealed and is set to free all humanity. It is slick, its dark and set in a new generation of films to push the special effects bar as fas as it could go. Followed by 2 somewhat satisfying sequels it still holds up today as a marvelous piece of effects wizardry.

CD: Southern Culture on the Skids - Dirt Track Date loved by college radio when they broke into the underground music scene they soon got a following from their fusion of country - rock - soul music. Slowly they released many songs all to the approval of many critics yet funny enough have yet to have a "hit". Sometimes the guitar work is a little over the top as they like to really give a good "twang" here and there but thats the appeal. One minute you surely think you're hearing a country ballad from 1966 and then suddenly out of nowhere it shifts to Hawaiian luau stuff...wtf? Exactly.


I am not really into this week everyone. Please....PLEASE do not give out condolences or anything like that. The tragedy I talked about last week is done with and I'm still dealing. I just rather deal in my own way.madplotter to answer your question I used something called photoflex but there are websites out there that do the same thing for the animations. Movie: Jaws The short story is this. A beach gets closed down due to the amount of shark attacks that have been happened. A greedy mayor sees to it the beach stays open despite what happened. A trio of men eventually take matters into their own hands to get rid of the almight shark problem. The End. I'm telling you though there is much much more to this. This film defined "suspense" in the modern age, people actually became afraid to swim at beaches after watching this film, really!. It helped make the term "summer box office event", it was the first film to gross 100 million dollars in profit. The musical score itself TO THIS DAY is still familiar with everyone of all ages. Oh yeah and some guy named Speilberg finally got his big break. The thing about Jaws is that its a movie everyone wants to see. the utter realism of how virtually death can come so easily to anyone by sharks and in such a realistic way reminds everyone of how frail humanity is in the grasp of a great white.
Look at it this way. You travel to Cancun or wherever....you think..."Ok I'll swim past the safety barrier for like 2 minutes" Next thing you know....well...youre drawn underwater and well.... little unnerving I think. Anyways I HIGHLY recommend you see this if you havent already and see it again if you have.

CD - Pulp Fiction: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack The surf music lovers dream! A great listen as it throws in a few oldies, helps us to discover talent the public didnt generally know that well and adds dialogue that makes the listener relive their favorite scenes. This CD also sparked the template for other Tarantino soundtracks to follow.

Well well. After a few weeks of feeling bad I am back. Putting stuff together and thinking. 2010 is nearing the end and in looking back its looked pretty fantastic. Although there is little time left in the year I'm prepared for the oncoming holiday rush....lol. I wont be anywhere near retail stores or crowds. Nope, any business i gotta do will be done online. Really, crowds at the holidays are nuts. I can just imagine what its like at the Eaton's Center in TO.....lol..IN-DEED! Yeah and of course we got the stupid flu season. Truth be told I never get my flu shot. It makes no sense to me. The flu always has a different strain from year to year. All I do is take echinacea and drink lots of tea. Works for me at least. Oh yeah and I really pile up the blankets too. I will never understand people who turn up their heat and sleep with like 1 or 2 covers. That is not energy efficient nor very healthy either. If you're going to use heat be use in moderation. Other than that uh I hear that its going to be a cold winter but very little snow. oooh you cant believe how much I dont like snow.I often wish what it would be like to spend the holidays in a tropical place like the Bahamas. Thats all i got for now
