Don't be so sure of yourself. I know several people who use macs (my wife included) who have been hit. "I use a mac" is no longer equivalent to "I'm completely safe."

I use MS Security Essentials as well as ad-aware and spybot S&D.

ESET Smart AV. Pricey, but very good.

Free alternative: Avast. Basic anti-virus, but no firewall.

kaspersky and WOT. Seriously, get the extension WOT for your browser... helps a ton.

I agree. The days of the safe Mac are no more. I know of people who use a Mac as well and have been hit hard. In fact, my cousin who studied computer technology for a few years in university had an assignment given to him at a work placement he was on asking him to deliberatle try and infect a Mac, which he did.

As for PC security. I use Anti Virus as a backup. Other software I rely on would be AVG and Kapersky. Both of which reliable and easy to use. Also the price to purchase isnt staggering either. The only issue with AVG I had were installing updates but that was simple to configure.

This next statement though is somewhat related to the thread as it relates to computers and its regarding "Windows" in general. I have to say that even now I am still impressed with Windows 7. My fave of all operating systems and arguably the best next to Windows XP. Not once after the year and a half of me having Windows 7 have I encountered a problem.
