Roster freeze

I will be placing Roster freeze on all Current Teams as of Friday 5pm EST.

The Freeze will be in place until the beginning of the season.

The Freeze will allow new teams better choices of players without worrying about a current team picking a Free player.

New Teams can still join under the Roster Freeze and will be given 24hrs grace period in which they can change their roster.

Chris Pronger played last night vs the Devils. Under normal rules I would have to release Pronger. But as these matches mean nothing I see no reason for this. But I must insist that a move be made before the roster freeze as I would like the greatest number of players available for others that would like to join.

Markov and Crosby have not been cleared to play and are unlikely to clear for the season openers.

On a side note, Bob Iginla is presently injured and it is up to you if you want to place him on IR.

Players must still be removed off IR and players must be released to make room for the player coming off IR.

Oh lastly, Rafalski ....retired.

Our trade deadline will be 2 days after the NHL draft. This should allow for our GM's to adjust.

To prohibit shady stuff like that (trading from bottom to top), I am playing with the idea of protecting players for next year. Each team would be allowed to protect some players. All other players would be returned to the pool and redrafted with new teams. This would also allow for trading of draft picks and also rewards members for playing since they would be able to protect a certain number of their stars.

What happens if a player comes of the IR list and you don't know about it? Should you have your player for release identified so it's automatic when the injured player returns? I guess for Centremen the choice is automatic already.
