Bonus Beauty Week

November 12th 2012

Bonus beauty Week !!!

It's been a while since having a bonus beauty week and quite honestly I do not know if this will be the last edition for this year or not. These pictures were all found at random and are presented for your enjoyment. As with this ongoing idea the tradition still stands as there will be 1 GG in the set. You know, just to keep it fresh and have people compare.


On a side note my computer is on its last days, literally. Long story short I might have to get a new one. What sucks is the data I will lose and the material related to Spark. I know I know. USB drives, back up disks....yada yada...I'm prepared and all that its just the fact of starting with a new machine that kills me and possbily having Windows 8. I like Windows 8 but prefer Windows 7. I'm rambling. Enjoy the photos. if I can i will compensate later this week by giving some movie and music recommendations.

Song: Jump Jive an' Wail - Brian Setzer Orchestra uWhen this was released years ago it brought Brian Setzer back into the spotlight after a long hiatus. He had success in the 80's with a group called the Stray Cats and had some nominal hits. I guess at the time when this song was released people were yearning for something of a throwback. It hit number 1 for a few weeks and the album was a multi million seller. He's still around producing the same sort of stuff its just that the songs he plays aren't really geared for top 40. Nonetheeless this tune is still damn catchy.

Movie: Faster Pussycat Kill Klll! You'll just have to believe me when I say this is a cult classic. Released in 1965 by Russ Meyers. You talk about sexploitation Russ meyers is the king. Mind you this is one of his more tame efforts but back in 65 this was considered ultra violent and graphic. To compare it to something today I would say its like a "Grindhouse" film only with more skin and such.

Food for thought: New computer! Still have Windows 7 thankfully. Tried that mess of a thing called Windows 8. I dont know what Microsoft is thinking. Its got the look and feel you are using an iPad or Smartphone but the thing is ...you're not....the design and feel was not meant for a desktop or a laptop. Sadly though when my new computer bites the dust I may have to convert but hopefully in the future Windows will have changed for the better. I have been doing some planning for the new year regarding the continuation of the thread. Specifically design and new additions and such. Sadly though I must say that the one idea I hoped to have big plans this year didnt take off as I hoped. I am referring to the Spark Exposed videos. Time and lack of resources but projects on the back burner so as it is I dont think any new videos will come out until 2013. I have to learn a whole new video editing program now which only makes things even tougher now. Other than that not much has happened. Still a good chunk of the year left with time for more surprises to come.

Song: Stone Temple Pilots - Plush Released when the who college and indie scene was white hot. They also had an acoustic version of this song which only helped them to propel themselves in getting best new artist in their respective year. Never compromising they just continue with their garage type sound and after 20 years can still play those chords as if they were new.


Movie: The Warriors I don't often recommend movies unless I feel their is something special about it. This is one of those moments. I saw this roughly a week to the day I post this. I always wanted to but put it off for whatever reason. So there I am, rummaging through a bin of Blu Rays at Best Buy and see this being sold for 0 bucks. I buy it and get home and see it. Oh yeah it was the Directors Cut so i dont know if there are any major differences between the original or not. Anyways. I'm seeing it and am thinking. "Wow. It's like a virtual graphic novel" Truly. We are introduced to a gang that right away we know doesnt exist and are lead on their adventure to make it home, basically. The whole style of this film hasn't been duplicated as excellently since its release . On one hand you got the serious issue of gangs and violence on the other you have moral issue of doing what it takes to survive and on top of that you have this all played out by a bunch of actors that no one heard of at the time. You have scene wipes, you have odd close ups, bizarre contrast and NO cliche or filler in the dialogue. If you haven't seen The Warriors
I sincerely suggest you do.
