I enjoy talking with other girls. I find everyone brings something to the table. I remember reading comments from and about Soda. She is often not spoken very well of on this forum. But she taught me a valuable lesson today. In a conversation with her today she opened my eyes to something many of us say in this community when talking about Genetic Girls. We often call them "Real" girls. I made this mistake today. The reason this is a mistake, is that by calling a Genetic Girl "Real" then we are calling ourselves fake. I am not the only one guilty of this. I have heard many others do this. I was corrected quickly by Soda and she even told me that it hurt her to hear that. After thinking about what she said, I truly understood her point. It lowers us when we do this. A GG is no more a "real" girl then any TS out there. She explained that instead of using the term "real", we should instead use the term "regular" and refer to us(Transsexuals) as "special", which is exactly what we are.
We live in a community where terms, words and ideas are growing. Acceptance is not a crazy idea. Tasha Jones once told me that for our community to be taken seriously we must first get ourselves in order. We fight with ourselves and stab each other in the back over petty things. Money, men....these things come and go. But carrying yourself with class, integrity, values and morals....these are the things that will make us strong. Yes, we all take our knocks from society....but we are better then that. These knocks have made us strong.
We should all learn to listen to each other, instead of waiting for our turn to speak as everyone has something interesting to say. We just have to take the time to find out what it is.
So thank you Soda for opening my eyes to something so simple and basic. Yet a very powerful idea.
So remember...Regular and Special....because none of us are fake.
Love You All.
