iPhone 5...Anyone???

I don't think anyone said they stole the mouse and UI from Xerox.
They just try to say they invented it, rather they refashioned it.
Then they said they were better than everyone else.

I worked on help desks from the 1990's until present day and I never saw windows as being a copy of the MAC OS.
Windows and MAC OS have been completely different on purpose.
Just because Windows used a mouse to click on icons does not mean that it was a copy.
This is the same as today where they say gestures on tablets are copied or proprietary.
A swipe is like a click and trying to patent this type of thing is like trying to patent a round steering wheel.

Sorry, I do not see one piece of innovation in the iPhone, all i see is copied crap slightly improved over Black berry.
Their media and legal machines are much stronger than their innovative genius.
The Apple 2 Personal Computer, the ipod and itunes were their only true innovations in my mind.

In the last 10 years MACS were completely abandoned for specialty graphics work because they just were not any faster or better for that kind of work anymore. In fact I truly think the only reasons they crunched graphics better was the extremely powerful Motorola chips MACS used. Possibly the menu and UI structure was conducive to better graphics types applications.

The only thing Apple is doing now is stifling innovation by trying to control simple concepts that should not be owned.

Darn! Mr Crag, you just made a compelling sales pitch on Blackberry products, which makes it much harder for me to switch now ... I am out of my agreement since last month, waited this long for the new iPhone5 and now after your Blackberry promotions here my brain is more disturbed than ever before lol!

I have an ipod touch 4, but never an iPhone, always Sony ericsson, and I'm sick of it. Leaning towards the Samsung galaxy S3, and I told myself that if this new iPhone is bereft with the 4G LTE technology I will shun it altogether, but it does! and much more I have waited for this new gadget from Apple and willing to enter another years of contract (You know I am not rich like most girls here, I cannot afford to buy the iPhone5 cash, I am just a humble 9 to 5 sometimes 9 to 3 regular worker, which means I am one of those who are in a 'Hand to Mouth existence', and I don't mean that in a sexual way. Well, sometimes...LOL!).

I enjoyed using FaceTime video chatting with relatives and friends from all over the world and for free, I know you'll probably will say I can do this on skype with any cellphone, but FaceTime is much faster and I'm accustomed to itunes already.

Anyway, I've got nothing against Canadian owned Blackberry, haven't use it before though, and I always patronized every Canadian stores, products, etc... from Zellers (which will be Target soon tsk tsk) to Tim Horton's my choice of coffee house over any other, to CanadianTire, is it still Canadian owned?. But I think I'm gonna try my very first iPhone this time, hopefully you will not take it against me and won't ban me from this site if I snub your chosen gadget for now....Hehehehehe.

However this time his motives were purely financial.

If it is your first Iphone then i don't see a big deal.
I just don't like how they sucker users into buying each new version for such a bloated price.
Don't get caught up in that, your iphone 5 should do you for a few years, not a few months.

Also a few months after iphone 5 you may see a revolutionary Black berry that may make you wish you had waited.
Blackberry has a history of offering quality solid phones at the best prices and plans, Apple does not do this.
It is their way or the highway mostly.

Plus i cannot see how anyone can type on the iphone keyboard.
I can type like a mad man on a BB keyboard and they have improved it for BB10.

GM onstar uses BB technology and so does Ford car systems.

An MP3 player can interface with any stereo or other device.
An Ipod can only interface with Ipod compatible devices.
Ipods don't sound any better, they cost more and they are less flexible.
They don't use standard connectors thus having you spend more money on dongles and accessories.
Iphones are exactly this a cash cow that is less functional univerally than a cheaper product.

Now Iphone 5 will have a different plug than the classic one they have used for years on ipods and iphones.
meaning everyone will have to spend loads on new adapters and dongles for no reason.

I love texting using my iPod on wi-fi than my ericsson with the slide open keyboard it sucks! I love iTune, FaceTime chatting and so on and so forth.
Thank God, I am finished with my contract before this 5 came out, the contract prevented me from switching to Apple iPhone series in the past. I was offered $0 to sign up again for another 3 years with an iPhone4, $99 for the iPhone4s, but why would I? if I can have the latest, as per Crag suggestion I will keep this iPhone5 for the longest possible time regardless of what ever new one comes out, unless of course I dropped it in the toilet bowl during those dirty activities in the washroom...lol!. Now I am sooooooo excited!... I never have this excitement since my very first intercourse!

Btw., I pre-ordered the white.

Working in the cellular industry Blackberry this year has been responsible for about 80% of our service phones. They have had the most problems of any smartphone device that we sell. Problems such as keys falling off (9700, 9780 9900), software issues, hardware issues etc... Funnily enough, Blackberry would not admit any fault in the devices that had such problems even though it is apparent that it was a manufacturing fault.

You talk like I am an Apple fanboy which is also incorrect. I do in fact prefer the Android system. Not just any old Android since not all of them are any good. Acer, LG etc are garbage yet Samsung, some Htc's and some Sony were much better.

Other than overpriced and over-hyped, in my experience (8 years in the industry fyi) Apple still make a quality product. The same could be said for RIM up until this year where everything took a nosedive in terms of quality. Not everyone will experience issues with their Blackberry but a huge percentage of them will.

You have a very valid point about the durability of Iphones and a lot of Androids but at the same time they are not designed to be abused or neccesarily survive drops etc. In fact I would say that the Iphone is the least durable of the lot, with a much greater chance of smashing if it gets dropped. My point is when they are not abused they are very much more reliable than any RIM product just now. And the antenna issues with the Iphone were only in the 4 and were fixed in the 4s. Both the 3G and 3GS had no such issues.

Just in May there, Blackberry still had over $1 Billion worth of unsold stock and you think that they have money and are not in trouble, Seriously!!!!

More and more people each day are switching from Blackberry to Iphone and Android and with no firm release date of any new Blackberry then their market share gets smaller and smaller.

For the record I actually hope that Blackberry does pull itself out the hole they are in and start producing quality handsets again but I do not expect it.

My opinion is that they will not survive and mark my words did have a lol at the end signifying that there was an element of humour attached to that statement.

Blackberry was a major player but things are changing and I doubt very much that Apple or Samsung etc are afraid of BB, considering the market share now.

All in all my opinion (and just that) is that Blackberry will not survive and if they do it will be on a much smaller scale than in the past. My information does not come from just reading things online but from a real life, day to day experience. All your points about Apple being propietary etc are valid but at the same time are the same common arguments people make about buying Apple products so no news there. For every customer that has a great 9900 I have at least another 3 that have had nothing but issues with theirs.

Your arguments are not different than Apple fanboys defending their precious products and yet you are sound like a Blackberry fanboy protecting their precious products. Everyone will have their own opinion and are fully entitiled to them.

On that note, I go by my experience in the industry and facts that are available to those that also work in the industry. I don't fall for the Apple hype or the internet information but by real life experience. I am also unlikely to believe some rich dudes statement since he probably has a vested interest in them and as such of course wants people to not lose hope.

The reality is that noone ever gets all the facts but those directly involved know a hell of a lot more about this than others. I am only speaking for Blackberry quality and declining sales, not for their financial standing or future.
