I saw something about this on CBC news last night. Aboriginals make up 4% of the population but 23% of the federal prison population. If that isn't a solid indication that we have a problem, nothing is.

No rights and freedoms are ever good enough for the French unless it means we all speak French exclusively.

I just saw a group of aboriginals protesting because they want the same language rights as the French.
It makes sense because some of their languages are older than French or English in Canada.
Good luck though, nobody will ever have more rights in Canada than the French and still they stomp their feet and complain.

As taxpayers, we give billions of dollars each year to the reserves.

The aboriginal chiefs (who all seem to drive very expensive monster trucks I've noticed) strongly oppose any attempts by the government to open their books so that we can see how our tax dollars are being spent. Instead, they opt for massive anti-government protests screaming for more money ... orchestrated by who? The chiefs.

I'm taxed to the max ... yet aboriginals don't pay taxes. At all. Purely based on their race.

Barbie, no I don't. The fact is the only place racism is prominent is in a safe place. That is to say, the place I live in is full of all races and genders and sexuality. The area is crime ridden, poverty runs rampant, the mentally ill roam around and drugs are all over the place. This means that every person runs a risk by just living here. And in the US, the right to free speech does not entitle anyone to say whatever they want wherever they want. If Barbie wants to start her own forum and say whatever she wants, that is her right and privilege. But this is not, per se, a public space in that someone else owns and runs this forum. My heart goes out to you. I cannot say "I know how you feel" nor can I say "I understand"....because I do not.

Your day to day struggles and the support you have to offer your child, are unimaginable to me. Every generation will have its problems and issues, but to have a child with a mental disability turns into a difficult life. Children are not easy to raise and getting harder with each passing year. But "the love of a parent", will always be "the love of a parent".
