This is not an exchange of money for inanimate merchandise it is the most intimate exchange (minus real love or romance) between two human beings. The fact that the government has found new ways to tax, control and harass escorts through allowing and requiring licenses does not change this. Trying to draw analogies between selling trucks, hardware, clothing , etc. only applies in a very limited sense. The person selling those things, working at that store, etc. is not putting their future health at risk by ringing your merchandise through the till.
