I was pretty sore today lol. It is all worth it though I am noticing changes already. My legs are pretty solid and have some good shape to them and my arms are starting to get toned and get defined. We have been going 5 days a week. I actually really like going to the gym a lot. So it all kind of works out. Today was our day off and we are going to go the rest of this week to miss up for days missed last week because of the shitty weather we have been having. I am really happy to be living a healthy lifestyle now. It has been one of the best changes I have made in my life.
You're definitely on track now. You learn to love that pain. Makes us know we're alive. If I work on a body part one day and I am not sore the next day, I didn't do it hard enough. After a warm up set of light weight, EVERY set is done until the muscle can't do anymore. (Muscle failure). Seems to work really well for the few that actually do it. Most people stop when they feel it, or hit that magic 10 count. LOL

Love to see more pics when you're ready too.

Just curious, considered doing any cross-training at all?

It does require someone with advanced training experience if you wanted a personalize workout schedule, but still nothing wrong with winging it...a workout is a workout.

Long used by tri-athletes and ultra-endurance athletes. Most all pro athletes are using this approach.

A simple way to look at it would be to google triathlon training then swap out some distance training for your existing weight training. Keep the V02 max (speed) workouts.

Sounds like you've got a good base level going...sometimes it's fun to mix it up.

        Have fun girl..."stronger, faster, farther".

I recommend you hold off on this one. I recommend everyone hold off on this one. LOL.

The problem is nobody knows what they are doing when teaching cross fit. Let's go 110% on this body part, then 110% on this part. Very little warmup or working into the movement. There are injuries all over the place. I agree it may be for the few that are able to do triathlons. These people with that balance of muscle fibres are rare. I don't believe most athletes are doing cross fit. Most are doing sport specific training which may look like cross fit, but the coaches doing it are real professionals, not someone with a weekend course under their belt. Unless you really know your trainers credentials. If they are vague, you know why.

            Point well made KC.

Cross-fit however is not cross training. Cross fit is new, looks interesting but could be another fad fitness trend. I'll trust you when you say that it is prone to high injury...never tried it. I think having V02 max training is very important. However you do it is a personal choice.

Cross training has been around a long long time. Martial arts for example is all about cross training: strength, endurance, speed. The balance of all three.

Wax on wax off grasshopper...oops guess that might cause repetitive stress disorder.

To each their own, it's all about health and fitness. Candy is a great example for us all.

Sorry GTanker, I automatically read it as cross fit. I'm hoping it is a fad. My gym just re-opened and has an entire waste of space for it. Seems like cross fit is designed for the younger folks less prone to injury. At least until it injures them.
