Jimi , Stevie and Jeff. Certainly all 3 a great guitarists. I even had a chance to see SRV in concert before the copter crash.
I simply chose 3 guitarists from 80's rock and metal. The 3 you listed are penatonic blues players not straying far from I,IV,V
Had I pointed out my favorite I would have posted this picture
Probably one of the most mimicked guitarists and band even to this day.
but then this guy had alot to do with guitar as well
oh and this guy to
oh and this guy down at the cross roads
The real point is there is a long line of heritage, influence
Most of todays music is nothing more then a snake eating its own tale
No roots, no history and no where to go but redundancy
Surprisingly Christina Aguileras latest effort pays homage to Etta James.
Not big on guitars anywhere here but the music is a wonderful blend of the old meets the new.
When you can do that, thats the deal. Thats how its done.
See, I listen to everything out there, even someone so removed from the rock scene as Christina Aguilera.
Why not, she has an amazing voice.
But Im still a metal bitch
Ya, Christina..she does have a nice voice but her recent obsession and latest attempt to re-invent seems more of a cash-in on those who paved the road for her than anything else. A double CD even..vanity project if you ask me. *shrugs* You seem to have completely missed the point of my post though, which was not intended to provide a soap-box for further explanation of your metal roots, or a dissertation on the music scene in general, but rather your seeming inability to go out and party anywhere except with the mulletheads and still have a good time. I merely meant to suggest that one needn't stick to any particular scene in order to go out and make merry. A party is what you make of it, wherever you may be! 'Nuff said
Raven v4.20<br />Now medicated for your protection!
I'm a rocker, hard rock/heavy metal/sounthern rock guy in my early 40's and I never get enough of that music, and if I want to party with friends, I can't do it if it's dance or techo crap playing...gimme at least some blues and then I'll be OK. Hey, if you can open yourself and party under whichever music you want then great for you but some people here are true to their roots and that's just the way it is. It's not being close minded, it's just what they love!!! There's no bullshit with rockers, we are commited, we don't follow fashion because we know who we are and don't need to try new things always to find ourselves.
Hey Shelby, if you never heard of The Outlaws, check out the following clip, actually there's 2 part cause it's a 20 minutes songs, around the middle to the end it's an amazing lead guitar army show...must be seen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw4Yl_grMdY
Cheers babe
Some people call me the space cowboy, yeah
Some call me the gangster of love!

Couldn't have said it better myself

we have to party

Na, never missed the point. I chose not to address it because the answer is so obvious.
club music sucks no matter where you go, with a few exceptions in the mainstream.
As far as my soapbox. Sure this is. This is a forum for heavens sake and I see no reason why the only valid post from a shemale would be to flash her dick or asshole.
I welcome your words, but fail to see why you chose to belittle someone for trying to attempt to post something that is different then the usual T&A.
Why not try starting your own thread and sharing your own thoughts instead of laying in the back ground waiting to pounce on other peoples threads when you see fit.
That pretty much goes for all you lurkers out there male or female.
Ok, chatted with Raven
The point in contention is. You have to be a part of the celebration and not wait for it. Which is absolutely true.
Raven and I have never partied together so she would not know that for the most part I'm usually the first one on a dance floor.
and thats the point I tried to get across. Even as much as I can't stand the music being played I always try to get out there and have fun.
Im just tired of listening to music no one ever heard of, or cares or even want to be subjected to.
By looking around the clubs I see more people standing around then ever before. If someone gets up to dance its as though "well I guess I have to dance to this cuz there not going to play anything I like anyways".
Im not interested in bpm I want to hear someone sing something to make me feel good and bpm and these bizarre fade ins and extended mixs in my mind is a dj thing and has nothing to do with what the artist originally intended.
So, for me I'd rather just have a beer and listen to 4 or 5 lads on a stage playing straight ahead no BS rock. Songs with words and music that makes getting on a dance floor fun and makes you feel good.
Enough droning rubbish and formulated bpm
Maybe its a pagan thing only God knows
Keep the art on the wall
