Has The Caitlyn Jenner/Transgender Movement Backlash Begun?

There has been an alarming number of trans murders in 2015 which has spiked in the last 3-4 months.
Could this be a backlash from the bigots and anti-LGBT parts of society? Are trans women feeling more bold to come out and be themselves due to the Caitlyn Jenner media coverage only to find nothing has changed in the minds of most of society in their antagonistic views towards transgender men & women?

So while many on this forum see trans women/t-girls/she-males as their ultimate fantasy most trans women's lives are anything but in the real world.

This alarming number recently led transgender actress and activist Laverne Cox to declare a "State of Emergency" in the transgender community, stating that "your life should not be in danger simply for being who you are." And while this disturbing spike in the murder of trans women of color, who are disproportionately affected by violence, has caught the attention of many major news outlets, cable networks have remained remarkably silent."

I would have thought there would be more backlash from the transgender community against Kaitlynn than anyone else.

There is probably nothing specifically related to this issue that is causing this violence.

I hear these numbers but i never hear how the numbers compare to the total number of Homicides in the USA overall. The USA has the highest murder rate per capita in the world so the fact the numbers are high in the USA is not surprising at all. Also how does it compare to other years other countries and all that. This just says 17 is a lot with no reference. The overall community numbers are hard to pinpoint as many don't officially register as TG and others just do their own thing and don't really need to label themselves. Others it stays in their head, but are they any less transgendered?
This is just like the womens movement saying that women only make 75% of what men make, but they don't have hard statistics to prove it just rhetoric. In reality I would say women actually work 25% less than men due to maternity and child care, but there is no hard facts on this one.

I heard a similar story about the number of TGs murdered in Brazil as it is even higher than this. But when you look at the facts Brazil also has one of the highest murder rates in the world and one of the largest populations of TGs. Plus Brazil is just an extremely violent place overall.

Sure it is tragic that they died or were murdered but is there numbers to really back up the theory that TGs are being targeted?
How many times was it their lover or someone they know. Why is every single death of a TG held up and recognized when the majority of people don't get recognized or cared about? Only when they are TG or Gay or of colour does it seem to matter.
In my mind all victims of murder should be identified not just a certain few. We should be working together against all violence not just for certain groups.

But no i don't think Kaitlynn has anything to do with an increase in violence towards TGs at all.
I specifically don't like her much but it has no bearing about how i feel about other TGs.

The fact is, no one has figured it out but just assumes that this is a inordinate number of TGs murdered compared to the overall population. Also history has proven that if someone is murdered or committed suicide, and there is slightest hint of them being TG, they are added to the list.

I know I hate TGs and only care about money,
but i have spent alot of time reading on the subject and discussing it with other people that don't have a hissy fit when i bring up and alternate paradigm. I don't just make stuff up and say it is fact.

These articles, for example, assume the rate is higher in TGs and that most of the murders were due to hate, but they fall short of providing facts to support it. The only fact i would agree with is people of colour seem to have a higher murder rate, but still no specific ties to hate. It is often stated that more of the hate comes from people within the community than from those outside.

I was able to make a case that it maybe isn't as horrible as made out to be.

Statistics show countries with the most TGs, have the most TG murders.
Countries with more murders and more TGs will have a high TG murder rate.
Still nothing shows it is actually higher than the actual murder rate.

If you look at the number of 602 murders in Brazil you might say it is the worst place on earth a TG could live, but this is not really the case.

1 person dies of violent crimes every 40 secs
1 person dies of armed combat every 100 seconds
1 trans person dies every 3 days from violent crimes

If you calculate the final numbers, you will see that the number of trans related violence is on par with other groups.

Yes that may have been a knee jerk emotional response but definitely seems like you have a who gives a fuck about transgender rights, etc, attitude whenever I or anyone else brings it up. You down play it like "Problem? What problem?" This is an attitude of indifference, which results in inaction and lack progress for transgender women when the men who lust/love them the most have this kind of "I'm not getting involved" attitude.
