Ok folks the big trip is getting nearer. There is some great airfare deals out there and stuff is dirt cheap once you arrive.
Don't miss out on the last year of Ladyboy Volleyball in Pattaya. Who knows if there will be an event like this again?

Hua Hin is on the other side of the bay, about a 2 hour drive from Bangkok. It is a popular beach resort and is where most of the wealthy Thais go for vacation and recreation. The king has one of his main residences there.

I have been to Hua Hin once with some ladyboys for a Hip Hop festival on the beach, it was pretty awesome.
Generally Hua Hin is a very quiet town but still a decent size, there is some high end resorts there like Hilton and Intercontinental.
it is not known for much violence but there is sporadic violence around Thailand regularly.
Last year there was a bombing at the popular Erawan Shrine in Bangkok which killed many people that was one of the worst one's i have had heard of in the main part of Thailand.

There is continuous violence in the deep south of Thailand where the country meets Malaysia. Thailand took over a region that previously belonged to Malaysia but it contains mainly Muslim residents that don't mix well with the Buddhist majority in the country. There is bombing all the time down there, it is actually quite bad. However the rest of the country does not suffer from this violence.

Pretty calm compared to the USA for sure.

Since many elite, military, royalty and government officials frequent Hua Hin this may a politically motivated bombing.
They just had a referendum on a new constitution created by the military dictator so there may be some hard feelings.

Your date is a definite stunner - does she have a twin sister ! I have lots of holidays saved up and have been to the LOS twice but did not experience the ladyboy scene. I may have to look at making another trip - with a different focus - based on all the pics, info and posts I have read!

Well you should be coming with us in November, this is the very last year for ladyboy volleyball and i got lot of tickets.

I met View working in La Bamba bar. Her cousin owns the bar but i don't know of any sisters.
There is plenty of ladyboys in Thailand that look like her for sure.
She went back to the farm to raise buffalo, so I don't think she is around anymore.

Are you flying via Hong Kong? Just checked the tickets for this time frame and there are some pretty damn cheap flights available from China Southern and China Eastern Airlines. $700 each way.

I may just decide to pay a bit more to fly with AC at least for the first segment of the trip though.

However flights on AC are getting pretty slim, depending where you live.
The return flights are really bad, I paid for business class to get exactly what i wanted.
If you go AC economy there is lots of options still but not as cheap as the Chinese ones for sure.

I think that story could happen in New York, Toronto or even Vancouver.

Well I'm booked into my Hotel for Pattaya.

The LK Renaissance Hotel Pattaya.
This Hotel is 3.5 stars but I think they are rated lower than 4 stars due to closing their restaurant.

The hotel is just north of Pattaya Second Road and very central to everything.
Also it is right beside the Areca lodge where the volleyball event is, so that is convenient.

Booked a "Deluxe" room for 1800 Baht.
I am still on the fence due to the size of the pool but we will see.
