Don't want to take sides -- I lived in Calgary only briefly -- but let's not assume that touring shemales are sizing up that market rightly. Americans by and large are thoroughly unaware of western Canada, and other Canadians have, it's safe to say, a few preconceptions. But as has been observed, not only is there lots of money in Cowtown but lots of single men. And the fact that it isn't exactly San Francisco concerning gays doesn't necessarily impede business for a T-girl -- how many guys here regard themselves as straight except regarding transsexuals? Ostensibly straight guys probably count for far more of a working T-girl's income than men who regard themselves as gay.

I wouldn't want to suggest that any neglected market is some gold mine -- people make their business choices for some sound reason, typically. But we know there's a certain amount of shemale work to be had in Ottawa, and we know that in part because it's cheap and easy for the girls to go check it out. The Calgary market is probably not smaller, and someone who actually coughs up a plane ticket, takes out ads in the weeklies and touts their arrival in forums like this one will, I think, do just fine.
