  • Guverning George's Convento with a Goodhandy club.

Simple question. You're going out for business or pleasure or business pleasure...lol
Where do you as a lady or ladies man like to hang out? Myself I've been to all those clubs listed and more.

Goodhandy's Wasn't there for long but undoubtedly my favorite place to meet up with friends , admirers and see t women. The ladies have their dances and are friendly to talk with. Also, it was good to see it was a 2 level establishment. Bar on the first and 2nd floor with ample seats, an average size dance floor and the price of drinks were fair. Add the fact they have different theme nights and a HUMONGOUS wide screen tv that even I can see with my eyes and yeah...I can say I had fun going there. One thing, the music, like the variety but not my taste. More on that later.

George's Play Was there for a while and saw the UNBELIEVABLY passable entertainer Sasha Montenegro. Oh my god. I mean REALLY passable. As for the cost of drinks I don't know what prices are as I didn't have any but loved the set up of the place. The bar engulfed the whole floor so if you wanted a drink it wasn't hard to buy one. Basically you either look at the stage or turn around and look at the bar....LOL The T women there were nice enough to look at. I am uncertain though that when I went if it was a theme night or not, there was definitely a Latin flavor at the time. Lots of room to sit and chat if you wanted. As for the music. It was good, the mix wasn't all that bad although it didn't pique my interest too much as it was mostly samba.

El Convento Rico Been there 3 times in the past 3 months and each visit got worse and worse. First of all the dance floor is tiny. Its defintiely a place where dance is encouraged but as the dance floor fills up people then tend to dance by the bar. People literally are squished together just like those clowns you see piling into a small Pinto at the circus. Oh yeah theres nothing I like more than having 300 pound Bob getting his sweaty chest in my face as he tries to cha cha cha . Not only that, the ceiling, my oh my oh my. Its so low and the lights are right up in your face. I guess its needed for the nightly show because as I remember it the entertainers had dozens of lights shone on them. The t women there, hard to approach ...but.....will warm up to you if you are sincere. As for my friends who had gone they felt the place didn't do the t women justice being there even though it is a t woman friendly bar. It seemed they generally went un noticed. Price of drinks. Higher than average. Vodka tonic for like 13 bucks. Yeah I don't THINK so.

The music. O.k. This is NOT a joke. Of all 3 times I visited they played the EXACT playlist. They'd play a salsa song, then there'd be a Jennifer Lopes tune in Spanish followed by Bon Jovi (? ? ?) which did not fit the club at all. Not only that I was waiting...waiting for them to play one club anthem as I knew a place like that would showcase it. Couldn't help but laugh when they featured "Carnival de Paris" by Dario G and hear people chant the soccer anthem "Ole ole ole ole"

The Guvernment As far as i'm concerned The Guvernment....actually no. What's The Guvernment? I don't know of any Guvernment. Isn't the Guvernment a new paint by Ralph Lauren? I'm kidding of course. Yeah, I'll say it. The WORST place in TO. Yeah. I'm being biased. Why? Consider that I was banned from there. Yeah, some of you may know me now but none of you knew me years ago when I was a hell raiser. I thought El Convento Rico had a bad dance floor the Guvernment basically has this hole in the center of the building where people fall in and swim around trying to find an exit. I saw a few t ladies there but they were not too friendly, polite yes but not friendly. Ok. I bought a few drinks for them. We chatted and had some nice chit chat but it seemed at the time they felt like they wanted to stay in their clique. Who knows.

So why the hell was I banned? Well, when I went there was a live to air radio show or something and the dj was like " Yo yo yo yo yo yo, get your up ons. Who be at in here and smokin'? " At the time I was working in radio and was shaking my head at the guy in disbelief. Unfortunately he sees me, grabs his mic and gets up in MY face trying to boost his listeners in and out of the club . he talks in his mic "Hey man, why you trippin'?" I stared at him stone faced and said nothing. He smiled thinking I wasn't serious. "Come on man. Why don't you be partying?" There is only so much retro C and C Music Factory stuff one can stomach and again I just shook my head no as if to say I didn't want to talk. The dj then looked confused and asked. "Come on man, why aren't you dancin'?" I said to him " I want you to play something GOOD." Sad part is I didnt notice he put the mic to my face and EVERYONE heard that. Needless to say I got many stares. The dj then calls up the bouncer and says..."Get him out." I shouted. "You can't kick me out for that." The bouncer comes along and ushered me away from the dj and then sees me to the door. WTF? From that point on I've never considered The Guvernment more than just a marketing tool to promote bad.... REALLY bad dance tunes.

    Happy voting.

Well written. I prefer Goodhandy's the most out of all of them.

El Conventro Rico used to be better before they renovated, I thought. The old dance floor was much bigger and better. Yes you truly can stand at the bar and dance at the same time but it makes for a jam up at times.
Seems to be gayer crowd than past but hard to say from only a couple visits, certainly less T's.

I would say that The Play and Goodhandy's are both pretty good, whilst different.

Goodhandy's probably has the most tgirls especially thursdays but is a little more business-like than your average club.
Saturdays can tend to be more FTMs than MTFs but still a good fun crowd, and some hot T's.
Different types of shows and music here than you often see at this type of club, some very original.
I don't think anyone can quite beat their thursday nights.

The Play usually has a lower tgirl ratio but tends to be a little more of a hangout.
A little more mainstream and certainly more gay, but more of a casual feel, have had some fun here.
Shows are a little more what you would expect from this type of place, diva type stuff.
Probably the cheapest cover & drinks out of all.

I'll take anything but The Guvernment.

Sub question: Is the Lounge really a "club" so to speak where you can sit and dance and drink and talk or no? I've never been but from what I've read online its more a "strip" club isn't it? If so thats not my thing

        however like I said .......

anything is better than The Guvernment. That stupid.....ridiculous.....wannabe superstar dj hangout.

Good Post, I'd have to say that George's & Goodhandys are the top 2. I've had good experiences at El Convento. Not all of the Tgirl kind. I've meet alot of good lookin girls there and had a great time with them, it is a party place. They could change up the music.

I don't find the name "Lounge" very appropriate.
It is not so easy to get a beer and the girls are often quite impatient to get you to a private dance plus they aren't supposed to sit with you while other girls dance, so i don't often find it very relaxing.
Different than your average strip club for sure.

Re: Guverning George's Convento with a Goodhandy club.

The Lounge is a very uninspiring place. Went there for the first time the other Tuesday. Only a handful of patrons. $25 to get in. Only two girls -- one was Lisa Paradise -- looked like anything. There were about 4 or five others who were not at all memorable.

The place is dark and dingy.

The dancing was mediocre except for Lisa who at least has a routine and get into it a bit.

Did not partake in a private dance and will not repeat.

By comparison, Goodhandy's is a live place.

The lounge is a good place to sample and meet the different girls.
The cover charge is good to come and go all day, although I am usually broke after and hour or so there.

Would be nice if there were other ways for the girls to make tips and money there so the lap dance pressure is not so high. Many other clubs of this style give girls commision on drinks etc. so they have several avenues to make cash.

The Lounge is your typical strip club and the girls are there to work. It's in a good out-of the-way location and you almost always get what you came for. I find it very relaxing and, as someone put it, a great way to sample the different girls.
My one beef is clearing out the girls when someone is on stage. None of the girls are infavour of this and I'm sure none of the patrons are either. It makes it very rushed to get a vibe from the girls and determine who you want to dance with and if you don't get to chat with a specific girl you're looking at 20 min before you get another chance.
But I'm a big fan, wish I was there now.

Re: Guverning George's Convento with a Goodhandy club.

Thank you Calvin, for getting the concept and explaining it. I have made numerous posts regarding this, but few seem to read those threads apparently. I don't see much difference in the "straight clubs" either, the Females are working, they may be polite and friendly, but they are still working. The T-Girls make their money providing VIP dances, and they provide stage shows for your entertainment and also to merit a cover charge. We will not be setting up booths for them to sell pottery, jams or assorted baked goods in between shows, to make extra money.

The policy of the T-girls leaving the room was put into place a couple of years back. The ladies, that are not in denial and playing victim, know why this happens. The only time we ever had trouble with the performers, was when the ladies where misbehaving when another lady was on stage. They would either distract the gentlemen as another lady was performing, by flirting loudly or leading them into the back, leaving the lady on stage with no one to perform for. The room is very small, and sound travels easily, so even a simple quiet conversation can be disturbing. I do apologize to the Gents that this has to be the case, but the ladies know very well, why it is the case. This will not be the set-up for our T-Girl Burlesque Nights at Goodhandy's. The club is larger and you can mix with the girls by the main bar, while the shows are on, or you can sit by the stage if you wish to view the show.

And just for the record, the shows are not 20 minutes, they are timed to be around 9 minutes tops. Just enough time to wait for that beer that takes so long to get to your table (by the way, the bar is just 10 steps down the hall after 8:00pm, if you want to go directly to the bartender and not wait for the dj/waiter to get your drink).
And also for the record, I will repeat this again for yet another time, we do not make money off the bar sales. The cover charge is how we make our money, and we are not going to offer this event for free. And we never push drinks on people, as other Strip clubs do. We are not able to give percentages of drink sales to the girls, considering (again) we do not get any drink sales.

We could consider a chocolate bar drive or something, maybe sell them in the parking lot, then the girls don't have to do VIP dances, they could just be there to give a GFE to everyone coming in. And then maybe they could all give sex for free afterwards to the guys that pretend they want a relationship. And then we could all run through a meadow holding hands, and loving the world.
And I mean this in the nicest way, and it is not directed towards anyone sensitive either living or nearly dead. And I am not carrying my baseball bat as I type this, I promise.

And as I always see written on this board "This is just my opinion" "That is what a message board is for" so this, my darlings, is my opinion.
                    Thanks
                    Mandy

Re: Guverning George's Convento with a Goodhandy club.

I have spoken to all the girls at one time or another, in private, and they all agree with the rule about leaving the room. It seemed odd at first, even to me, but it is a unique sub-culture in that tiny basement room and it just seems to work.
To add to what Mandy explained above, and to hopefully make you guys understand more: the Lounge is not a big, loud, dancy strip club with flashing lasers and tons of girls. We have between 3 to 6 girls on at any one time. And there are breaks between the shows - we have always been honest about this. Breaks are 3 or 4 or sometimes 5 songs, when it is quiet. So when a lady gets a chance to go on stage, she wants to feel centre stage, she wants all eyes on her, the room is small and quiet, and if other ladies are in the room, the lady on stage's show will be lost. During the break, there is plenty time for mingling and chatting and conversation.
The ladies who are not already in a VIP dance leave the room, for 6 to 9 minutes (maximum show is 9 minutes) and then they return.
I totally, totally understand how it may appear odd at first visit - I have had to explain it to guys myself, but most people understand when it is explained. So I figured since we were on the topic on the board, I would explain - it is not a perfect system, but it works. And I understand Calvin's point about the rushing to "get a vibe" - if you enter the club within only a few minutes before a lady goes on stage, it can be a bit unnerving that all the girls exit the room. But hopefully after reading all this, you will understand more and be less confused.
And one final thing - the DJ/ manager is there to help you in any way he can help you. If you do happen to be in a big rush, and for some reason the lady you would like a VIP dance has just left the room, you can ask him to get the lady for you and arrange for her to walk straight into the room and straight into the VIP area. Don't be shy talking to Fausto or Jacob (or me on the rare times that I fill in) about any of this!

Thanks for reading, and thanks for your continued support of both venues.

Point well taken, you do a great job with the clubs and I've never had a bad time. In fact I had an amazing dance(s) with the one and only Amanda a while back. I'd say it is even better than the straight clubs - more relaxed and friendly.

I don't mind the lounge - as Calvin said it's similar to what you would find at a strip club in Toronto (though the private dances are way more sensual and intimate than anything I've had at a regular strip club recently - damn Lounge has spoiled me for other strip clubs . )

I've only been to George's once, and that was last Friday night. There was a lot of gay guys there (one called me adorable, which I thought was sweet) and 5 or 6 t-girls, one of whom was dancing around with her skirt pulled up around her hips and her tube top pulled down to the same place, giving a nice view of her package and tits.

Goodhandy's is good as well, given it's focus on t-girls on Thursday nights. It's obviously not as busy as George's, but you know what everyone is there for. Meet some girls working there, and some girls not working, and had some very nice times. Never been on Saturdays.

I thank those who had talked about The Lounge. It sounds interesting to say the least.
What I find a little surprising is no one chose the "other" option. Not being from the area my knowledge is limited as to what else the club scene has to offer when it comes to seeing and meeting up with t ladies. Is there not another place to go if someone was no where near either of the 3 clubs listed?

The Lounge is great, and hats off to Amanda for keeping it going.

The policy of the girls leaving the room makes sense because this way the girl who is dancing on stage and who is entitled to her moment in the spotlight doesn't feel that she has to compete with the other girls for the attention of the guys who are there. It's not a big deal. If you're having a good conversation with a girl and she has to leave, you can always pick it afterwards.

The girls are never a problem. If you're interested in chatting, they will be as well. If you let them know tactfully that you aren't in a talking mood, theyll take the hint and leave you alone.

The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Yes, it can sometimes take a bit of time to get a drink, but the staff are always happy to get one for you.

The Lounge is a special place - keep up the good work, Amanda.
