Every one here, including the thread starter certainly has made his own decision as to who he prefers to see, whether they be tall, short, asian, black, white etc. and rules out those he does not care to associate with. Is this not discrimination? Does he/we not discriminate against some providers then? Darned right he does! And so do we all.

Yet some here seem to think that it is all right to deny the provider of service any choice of who she sees. That is just not right!
I understand Shelby's preference, we all have them. I can also see the other side. For centuries black people were denied service because of their skin colour. I am don't know how it must feel to be a black person and see an ad that says caucasians only or caucasians preferred. I am guessing it isn't pleasant. Yes Shelby is only being honest and should all have the right to decide who we sleep with. It is a complicated issues and my prior posts were to show the other side. I don't believe that having a sexual preference in race makes you a racist. I personally don't have them but perhaps I am just a slut.

Shelby is not a racist...i've seen her made out with an asian guy at Goodhandy's and I am almost positive that she wnet home with this particular asian guy.

Shelby is not the only escort....if she prefers causcasian guys....call someone else...there are tons of tgirl escorts in Toronto. End of story!

I am a white guy who prefers black women....what does that make me?

It seems to me if the choice of whom you associate with is implicit and not talked about it is considered not to be racist, but simply a choice. However, if you state it (i.e. sorry, don't like [insert race here] women) you become racist. I see no fundamental difference between the two acts. I just think those who state it are being a little more overtly honest with everyone..."Oh, so you don't like white guys, fine, I won't waste my time trying to impress you/f**k you/etc..

If a Muslim lady chooses to not associate with non-muslims is that racist (yes, I understand that Islam is not a race...so lets say Arab instead)? How about a French man only wanting to marry a French (white, of course) woman? Native Ojibway woman only wanting Ojibway men?

The fact is we can choose whom we associate with, spend time with, shop with, marry, have sex with...we just can't say it.

        Hypocrisy. Absolutely.

            to KBLACK

If I didn't know of whom you speak, I might be inclined to rush to judgment and condemn her. But on reflection I cannot. In all honesty, denouncing anyone for being discriminating in the use of makeup, selection of foods they eat, friends they make, or persons they choose to sleep with is without foundation. The Shelby, of whom you write, is a super considerate individual who would avoid purposefully injuring the good name and/or reputation of another.

To raise doubts about her right to make astute business choices, or suggest she is racist because her choices are not all inclusive is absolute nonsense. You know or ought to know , you make many decisions in your daily undertakings that could be discerned as wanton discrimination to the uninvolved or less knowledgeable. You do it consciously or un-consciously as the case make be, without a second thought. So do I and many others.

Shelby, for whatever reason, has opted to have business dealing
with selected white clients. I'd venture to say many white potentials may call but few are actually selected. Expressing her right to choose is well within the Charter of Rights. I could amplify on her right to personal security and safety; something you've obviously overlooked, but I'll leave it as written.

May I suggest you cut her some slack and remain aloof from innuendo. You don't know the lady. You should refrain from casting unfounded and hurtful aspersions as to how she conducts her business affairs or what may motivate and guide her selection process.

In case I wasn't clear about what I was saying...I'm not calling anyone racist. I don't think it applies in this case. I think that Shelby is just being clear about her preferences and is called a racist because she has stated her preference. She has the right to choose her clients...after all it's her body. We're not talking about selling a camera-phone or emergency surgery or voting.

The fact is I'd do her but I don't have any business casual clothes. Oh, well.

Look. I tried to stay away from this thread. I posted because I was disappointed/hurt/sad when I read what was posted in Shelby's ad. I am well aware of everyone's right to freedom of choice in all aspects of life (sexual preference included) so please don't pontificate.

I read something, I was sad, I posted. End of story. I don't have anything against Shelby personally, understand her right to choose who she sees etc. Try to put yourself in the shoes of someone experiencing a prejudice and you'll understand (possibly) how one might feel reading what the ad said.

Anyway I'm quite sure that I won't change anyone's mind so that's it for me and this thread. So flame on...

                  and my closure.......

You intended in your initial writing to smear Shelby, by alleging she is racist. Had I been the Boards moderator of the day your piece would have been edited for cause. You may not like what you have read in responses but, let me assure you the authors who have rejected your allegation are correct. That kind of supporting testimony weighs far more in favour of Shelby, and her business standards and procedures. Now I am through pontificating.

You give your head a shake! You don't know any thing about people being prejudice. Your comparing you being a Tgirl to someone who's skin is colored give me a fucking break!

I told this to everyone you fucking choose to do whatever you want they can't go and make their skin white....it's totaly fucking different. You try being stopped by cops all the time or being pulled aside at airport security or even being followed around a varity store. When was the last time anyone crossed to the other side of the street because you are a TS and they are afraid of you? This happens every fucking day to people right here in Toronto. Like think about it this happens to KIDS would you want someone to be afraid of your kids because of their skin color? Do you want your kids followed around the grocery store? Stopped by cops for walking down the street? Think about it! This all happens in 2008 in Canada.

All you have to do is search for some White Power Forums and you will see how much of this stuff is going on today in Canada

Also what predjuice do you face? seriously...I know this going to piss everyone off....but if you are hot and passible.....no one gives a shit...if you are not hot and not passible...its a problem....is it a problem because you are a TS or just not good looking?
Guess what....there are genetic girls who are also not hot and people don't treat them with the respect they give to hot girls. Do you think it's ok for GG to walk around with moustaches?

Is there predjuice against tgirls.... for SURE, is it dangerous...FOR SURE!.....but you don't see a black guy sitting on a park bench alone at 1am in Marion Ohio. He's not choosing to be black or brown or whatever....thats how people were born, they aren't trying to look different.

You are choosing to get tits and silicone and whatever.....you know the risks there are going to be people who won't like you.

If sheelby is wanting to see only guys in suits and white guys ....who gives a shit ....thats fucking great lol....no biggie...what a stupid topic

But don't insult this guy because you haven't experienced 1/2 what he has....or any colored person for that matter......maybe you THINK you have ....but you haven't.

God bless people like Mike Clemons and others.

Tgirls not getting help and having nobody....well of course who would want to help such nasty people.....everyone knows that....it's not new.

Obviously no one has ever called you or your kids a nigger packie chink spic etc.....would you say your kids are crying foul when they come home to you and say that someone called them a nigger?

i beg to differ, most people are racist assholes in the big cities like Toronto and most of the U.S. you just told us that,i dont see what you see cause i live in a small town but im very aware of what happens in the rest of the world.my hubby is columbian and indian mixed and drives a mercedes suv and doesnt get pulled over cause some cop sees he looks like a mexican or a columbian drug dealer and probably stold the truck lol.all i know is if i were born back id be very proud of it maybe cause im attracted to dark skin i dunno i just used tgirl perdudism cause its a tgirl site and i know the girls in the big cities have a very hard time even the most beautifull so it does exist in our world.i have a friend in columbus ohio who is black and shes one of the most passable youll ever see and she told me once they find out shes a tgirl they hate on her like theres no tommorrow and i was in shock thinking to myself how can someone so beautifull both inside and out be hated on but i guess its just the shitty world in witch we live.when i was about 10 we had a black family move in beside us here in brantford this was back in the 70s,they were the first blacks to move here and someone or something burned there house to the ground and my parent moved thm into our house with all us 10 kids and there 3 kids and they stayed for about 8 months and we took alittle heat at school and got into alot of fights because of what my parents did but to us we were all family and we all stuck together so at a young age i wasnt able to see the hatret other people had to me i see no colour only beautty and thats that.

With Vic's post, this thread has officially gone from mildly foolish to completely ridiculous.

Anyone who's experienced prejudice and discrimination should be able to identify it when it comes from their own mouths. You know what? EVERYBODY experiences discrimination at some point, at the hands of someone ignorant. Even white, straight, able-bodied males experience it from time to time, though not nearly as often as the rest of us.

You don't think we deal with discrimination, prejudice and violence? You go tell that to Gwen Araujo, or Cassandra Do, or any of the thousands of trans people who have been murdered simply for being themsel ves. Go to www.rememberingourdead.org if you need a refresher course on the discrimination that leads to our deaths on a daily basis.

When was the last time you got fired from your job for being black? My former boss removed me from my position of Sales Manager and Marketing Director after I started my transition, because she thought that customers would judge our product negatively because of the person representing it. Attitudes like yours simply prove that she was right. After a pay cut, reduction of hours, and a lot of harassment on the job, I was eventually terminated because she "wasn't comfortable" having me in the office.

Nope, I've never been called a nigger or a spic or a packy; I've been called bitch, faggot, queer, and freak, instead - don't those count as slurs? Don't those words hold the same vitriol and hate as the ones you mentioned? It's even better when those same words come from the mouth of your own father - has your dad ever called you any of those slurs?

It doesn't matter how passable or attractive you are, either; if your presentation is female, but your ID says male, you're still going to experience problems. I've been harassed by cops too; I got pulled over with a male friend of mine in the car, and the cop asked him if he was my pimp. I've been stopped and questioned simply for walking down the street at 1am, wearing jeans and a sweater, and the cops accused me of working the corner. So don't tell me we don't experience discrimination, because it's very real to everyone in our community.

So Obama is going to be President, and good for him. How many trans politicians are there? How many trans cops, trans teachers, trans judges, and trans CEO's are there? Even if they exist as passable members of their identified gender, that means they have to go into hiding, pretend their pasts never existed, and are potentially subjected to blackmail if someone finds out.

In a further display of ignorance, you seem to think this is a CHOICE. It isn't. The only choice for us is being oursel ves, or blowing our brains out of our skulls. And sadly, a lot of us take that second option instead, because of that same discrimination you don't think we experience. We have just as much choice in our gender identity as we do in our ethnicity and skin colour: NONE.

We might be treated nicely on a tgirl forum, or in a tranny club, or by the men that fuck us for money, but that's an incredibly small portion of society. Ask us how much fun it is to get our cars fixed, or apply for a mortgage, or a job - the sex industry is the only place that we receive any respect. Why do you think so many of us end up here? Because nobody else wants anything to do with us.

I do it because I genuinely enjoy it, and it's a great way to pay my tuition, but many of us simply have no other choice. I was talking to a girl just two days ago that told me she turned a trick because she had no job, no food in her fridge, and her rent was coming up in 5 days. She looked like she had just been run over by a Mack Truck, but she did what she had to do to survive. She said to me, "I never thought I would actually do that" just before the tears started to flow down her face. Have you ever fucked someone for food and shelter? I highly doubt it, so don't go thinking it's all glitz and glamour in this business.

Finally, let's take a look at the most prejudiced comment in the entire thread:
Tgirls not getting help and having nobody....well of course who would want to help such nasty people.....everyone knows that....it's not new.
Your hypocricy knows no bounds. You claim prejudice, then display it in its most blatant form. If we're so nasty, why the hell are you on this forum? How can you judge all of us based on the words of the few? If that's not the dictionary definition of prejudice, I don't know what is.

I'm done with this thread before it becomes a "we're-more-discriminated-against-than-you-are" dramafest, but a few things before I go:

                              Shelby
                              - see who you want to see, it's your right and privilege.
Kblack - I'm sorry you were sad from Shelby's ad, but fortunately there are plenty of hot TS's that don't care what colour you are. We'll treat you like a king if you treat us with respect; that's all we care about.
Vic - If you think we have a choice about who we are, or that we're nasty people, then move on to your next kink, and get the fuck out of our forum. You're not welcome here, and that's not because of your skin colour - it's because of your stupidity.

That's it for me - you guys can argue over who experiences more discrimination, while I'm out there fighting it in ALL forms.

A Black person is not choosing to look black.
