Saved a pigeon!

Ya know, I’ve recently come to realize just how stress relieving a pet can be for a person. If I’m having a bad day, it’s pretty amazing how happy my cat can make me, or how much he can calm me down. I imagine the pigeons does the same for you.

Awh 😺💗🙂 I can so relate, I always say my cats take care of me and not the other way around. I'm pretty sure it's scientifically proven pets have positive effects on our health, like lowering blood pressure and cortisol and being so helpful for our mental health. They're amazing and for me I consider them my family.

And with Bella the pigeon and company it's similar, it's kind of unexplainable, it's a whole mix of emotions, everything from joy to worry, sadness to relief, etc etc. I guess it kind of put things in perspective, I feel sorry for her, I imagine if that was me or one of my loved ones. And I've been watching some pigeon documentaries lately and they are just exceptional little creatures.

No that's just urban legend, I had the same preoccupation but my sis assured me it's part of many birds natural diet in other countries. What's bad is bread, as it fills them up with empty calories and then they don't have room for the regular food they eat that are nutritious such as seed and grain etc.

Definitely not uncle bens, i think its considered racist rice now days, everything is racist now, stupid cancel culture. Personally I prefer Jasmine but sometimes those big bags of parboiled long grain rice are on special at super c for like 11$. But now I've started giving her some unsalted sunflower seeds and crushed up tortillas to get her some fat reserves for the winter, and when my finances permit I will go to the pet store to see about getting her some specialized pigeon/dove feed.

I always liked pigeons but the more I read up on them the more respect I have. Did you know there is mention of pigeons in ancient Sumerian texts dating back 5000 yrs ago and they are thought to have first been domesticated in the neolithic period around 10000 yrs ago.
