Wellwood - so much potential and talent just too lazy & injury prone

Whats left:
a team that will finish dead last in the conference.
a every disfunctional front office making tons of $ which is all the Board and OTPF want.
Fans paying more money to see a AHL lineup.

It's certainly good to see Andrew "No Glove" Raycroft gone. Wellwood got lazy and it's time for Mats to go, but I think that'll be it for the trades and buyouts. Too much cap hit to do much else, so I think they are gonna push McCabe around a bit, but not buy him out! The main thing is that when this team is hurtin in December, January, we need to just relax and cherish every loss! You'll never get anywhere drafting 15th every year, but there is an amazing amount of idiotic fans out there who don't get that. They piss me off to no end with there "should be trying to win all the time Pauliana bullshit." Lose, Lose, Lose is what I say!!! Every fucking game you can for about 3 years!!! No more late season heroics when it can only hurt you at the draft! Don't even get me started on that one!!!

Though I know fuck all and care less about ice hockey Is there not something very wrong and pathetic about the whole system when the only way to improve as a team is to go all the way to the bottom of the pile and be totally crap for a few years so that your team can get early draft picks. This from a team that must be rolling in it considering the TV revenues and the high priced sold out games.
Have the Leaves fans got no pride, can they do nothing to shake up the ownership . boycott, terrorism, vandalism, rink invasion ,refusing to pay 10 bucks for a watery beer, boycott the Sun newspaper, put picket lines around anything that the corporate jerk offs who own the Maple Leaves are sponsoring. Get under their skins and scare the bastards into action.
You're getting fuck all in the way of sport from those losers on the ice, create your own sport and get yourselves a decent team with honour, not by lying down and playing dead. oh yea lol

Would love to see Mats in Montreal. Remember he was in Quebec City when he started in the NHL. Montreal has lots of young talent, that they drafted, and they need some veteran leadership. It will take a few more years for Toronto to draft wisely and be contenders again. My two cents.

I don't think a team automatically gets the first pick for coming last. There is still a lottery process so it does not mean we will get Tavares. Furthermore, has anyone seen Tavares play, he is very lazy, not the best skater but her certainly knows where to be on the ice and how to score goals. Personally, I am not impressed. I can't believe Sundin did not leave when he could have last year. He screwed this team really good. Now we'll get nothign for him. I hope he goes to Montreal and gets booed every time he touches the ice in Toronto. They say as of tomorrow, without Sundin, we have $17 million to shop for free agents. But we have not acknowledged going after any of the big names. Not that I want Hossa on this team. I really thought Wellwood was our most talented player besides Sundin and he'll do well somewhere else. Maurice brought him down and he needs to have more freedom for what he can do. He is injury prone and can you believe after the season of injuries he had he goes and breaks his foot playing indoor soccer. What an ass. Just my thoughts, it's going to be a long winter as I try so hard to be a fan.

Somehow....I think the Leafs will be like the Oilers from the mid 90's. Like Lisa said, go with mostly rookies, then gain experience and then in time contenders.

Who's going to be the new captain? My guess either Ponikarovsky or McCabe.....gosh maybe even....even...Stajan??.

On the flip side. The Habs are trying desperately to get Dion Phaneuf and Tanguay and wouldn't it be sooooooo funny seeing Sundin in a Habs uniform and winning the cup in Montreal

Personally as a die hard Habs fan I wouldn't want Sundin on the squad but I'm sure others would love it.

Habs already have Alex Tanguay from Calgary. You're a little late. Why would they want Phaneuf? It's a power forward they're looking for. And I hope it's not Sundin.

To be a contender you have to have a mixture of good young players and free agent signings,with the salary cap in place now you will never see a dynasty like we have in past,or able to keep your team together for more thnn 3-4 yrs.
