    Lisa:

You look so much better in a Boston Bruins jersey! ready to jump on the Boston bandwagon? Heck there the best team in Hockey now!

Look there goes another Montreal Canadian fan jumping on the Bruins bandwagan, why not a Maple Leaf fan like yourself?

      leafs help needed

i would have thought keep clemmenson use pogge trade toskala for power forward. oh well. we have to use what they have. captain i think dennis more. but then there was a monty python dennis more.
having been in montreal and seeing all the great teams there just shows how weaker the league is now. id luv to see toronto get stronger and win sinc i am in this city. we can only hope. seems like all toronto pro teams fall into a malaise of being just good enough to get us to spend.
      according to some, not trangendered

I can't believe Sundin did not leave when he could have last year. He screwed this team really good. Now we'll get nothign for him. I hope he goes to Montreal and gets booed every time he touches the ice in Toronto. They say as of tomorrow, without Sundin, we have $17 million to shop for free agents. But we have not acknowledged going after any of the big names. Not that I want Hossa on this team. I really thought Wellwood was our most talented player besides Sundin and he'll do well somewhere else. Maurice brought him down and he needs to have more freedom for what he can do. He is injury prone and can you believe after the season of injuries he had he goes and breaks his foot playing indoor soccer. What an ass. Just my thoughts, it's going to be a long winter as I try so hard to be a fan.

I dont mean to be a dick, but i am going to have to disagree with alot of what you said.

First of, Sundin didnt leave at the dead line because he thought the leafs had a shot at making it to the playoffs, and i think you should love him for that, he had faith in his team, and he knew the only way they would get there was if he was still part of the team. You cant be upset because he refused to be a pawn in your chess game.
As for Tavares, granted he is overrated slightly, he is still the most talented player in the CHL, the only lazy part of his game is defence, and there are plenty of guys who have made great careers for themselves on just offence, so i think he will be fine. However, i think the Leafs would be better of drafting Victor Headman, a swedish defenceman who will be the next Nik Lidstrom.
And lastly, Kyle Wellwood. Its not like he intentionally broke his foot, you cant really fault him for bad luck. Granted he has had a few injuries in the past, it was his lack of physical fitness that hurt him most. The more out of shape you are, the longer your body will take to heal from injury. I will however agree with you when you say he is very talented, if he can stay in as good of shape as he is right now, he can expect to cash in nicely with a new contract, as he is a RFA at the end of the season.
In summation, I hope the Canucks have a great season, and I am calling the wings to repeat! =D

Lisa, did you just ask to cum over here?

Do not make me put you in handcuffs and throw you over my knee for a good old fashion spanking. Then of course make you watch some Bruins hockey games, wearing my Cam Neely jersey.

I take it you are from Vancouver. I guess you are happy Sundin stayed in Toronto last year. Now you have him and Wellwood. I guess that takes Wellwood off the powerplay. LOL. Don't get me wrong, I like both, but when a player makes it about money (Sundin) and not loyalty, he becomes a prick in my book. If Sundin even thought he might leave the team this year, he had no business staying last year. He's a prick, and the stupid Leaf fans will forget and probably applaud him next time he plays here. What, 7 million wasn't enough? What a prick. LOL. Did I say he was a prick? And Wellwood will do what Wellwood does, get injured and miss over 20 games. Mark my word. And about Tavares, he is certainly lighting up the Juniors playing against High School quality palyers. He certainly can find the back of the net. Reminds me of another guy that is having a hard time in teh NHL, Remember Stamkos? It will take a few years to adjust.

Well, its clear many people have very different veiws on what Sundin did and why he did it; I felt he was justified in staying, but if you disagree that is your buisness.

As for Wellwood, i dont see any injury fourthcoming, he is in the best shape of his life; i met him about a week ago, he looks really trim and deffined. But, anything can happen i suppose. However, Wellwood could still see time on the PP.
                            [Wellwood-Sundin-Raymond: Demitra-Ohlund/Edler]
But that is assuming AV wants to keep the Sedins together and have a strong 2nd PP line
                            [Sedin-Sedin-Bernier: Bieska-Ohlund/Edler]

And as for Tavares, i dont think anyone is calling he is going to be the next Crosby or anything; i also dont think anyone expected Stamkos to make an immediate impact at the NHL level. To have a player that goes from the draft to the NHL and can make an imediate impact is rare, especially if they are a pure goal scorer. Regardless, as for as the draft goes, he is the best and most promising offensive player this year.

all very good views but we need Tavares and we will get him you watch and if you think the leafs wont be play off bound in the next 2 years trust me they will with the economic turndown in the us teams will be dumping salaries left and right and burke knows it so hes sitting back laughing he couldnt have come into here in better shape, yes the salary cap will go down but we will have more to spend then anyone so in 4 to 5 years if were lucky then we will compete for the cup.for the record a little bird told me that the leafs and sens are working on a deal that would send the sens toskala and kaberle for jason spezza and a 3rd rounder.
