Congratulations. I got the Pfizer week and a half ago and only side effect was a sore shoulder for 24 hrs. And remember, it takes about two weeks from the first vaccination to build a level of immunity. The 2nd dose gives your immune system that extra boost. Can't wait for my 2nd dose

Great News Kylie!!!
I got my first shot of Pfizer on Saturday. Just a bit of soreness in the shoulder. My second shot will be on May 15. A friend got Moderna and on the second shot she felt like she had a flu for 2 days. Everyone's reaction seems to be different.

Are these vaccines gonna work with the variants? that is the million dollar question. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle...ly-2021-04-18/

I got vaccinated because I want to travel again and a lot of countries will require it to enter without having to do quarantines. I also am personally comfortable with vaccines as I have taken some in my life (stuff as a kid, a couple of flu shots, some HEP ones for travel) I am not particularly afraid of covid as the odds are overwhelmingly in my favor to survive with a mild road if I ever did get it. We shouldn't live our lives based on the tiny statistical poor outcomes. People get sick die of Viagra, people sick or die of hormone therapy (two medications relevant here); but we use them because we know the odds are highly in our favor to be fine or just have side effects we can live with. You can find people die from cough syrup. Obviously covid has a higher death count than those things but not in certain demos, and so we really should just do our best and live our lives.
And honestly, once Canada gets to 60% fully vaccinated I will become a protester if there are still lockdown and travel restrictions. I played along for a year and a half like we all did; enough is enough. I will take my chance with the variants and car crashes and all the other things that can happen living life. If people are still afraid of covid come september, stay home and let the rest of us live. I think that is a fair balance as anyone who is still terrified of it has a choice; don't leave your house.
Just my two cents ramble

My State has opened it up for everyone over 18 last week. The whole thing was surprisingly efficient. I book online with the CDC VAMS Website. A date was available that day but I waited for Saturday. I arrived and vaccinated in 5 to 10 minutes. I had to wait 15 minutes to see if there was a reaction to the vaccine and then went home.
My family in Toronto tell me people line up overnight at pop up vaccination clinics. That is crazy.

Be careful, when you see the Government and Media pushing this pandemic down your throat just ask your self this.
do you trust and believe in your own government, do you really believe they are looking out for you?
