They could look back in hindsight and see the feelings and behaviour and realize they were born trans, but it took many years of development to really get there. Obviously I am a one person sample size, but I have had these talks with enough people to feel pretty solid that it is very common to need that much time to get there. Someone who is 8 - 12 years old is mostly going to decide they are trans based on suggestions and guidance from adults.

As such, that leaves a very wide net to cast on the children. it could end up catching the girl who doesn't fit in because she likes to work on cars with her dad, or the girl who gets breasts early and gets made fun of at school and has massive body issues. Then you find out years later they weren't transgender.

So, I do think, it is fair and reasonable to have a discussion on specific ages that someone should be allowed to accept hormone therapy and physical surgeries. Blocking puberty has lifelong consequences and if you happen to be wrong, it can be a disaster. It is not evil or horrible to discuss ages of consent and maturity for very serious decisions.

Just some other thoughts to add to the pile from someone who has dated, been in relationships with, and had friends who are transgender.
A textbook example of an pure opinion piece, based upon rather dubious anecdotal evidence, long debunked claims, and hearsay.

I love how you just plow ahead with the outright lies concerning puberty blockers having “lifelong consequences”, like it’s commonplace. Such outcomes are actually extremely rare… A fact of which you may have been aware, and simply chose to ignore?

I’m a 200 lb man and have used the women’s restroom on occasion when the “men’s” is overwhelmed and the “people” in the “female” restroom have not been opposed.

for fuck sakes it’s just making waste. Nobody cares.

Nobody was opposed because you're a 200lbs man.

of course men do not care.

Don't get me wrong, this "trans in the bathroom topic" is a waste of time and ressourses, yes, cause we been using the correct bathroom for ever and trans people are not using the woman bathroom for assault but for safety, from the 200lbs mens...

this whole thread is so stupid I can not believe this is happening here, from all the places on the internet... a forum about straight men enjoying sucking dick, swallowing cum and getting fucked.

        i'm just in awe. 🤣

I think this thread is actually a reflection of what conservatives want, people distracted with pointless discourse.

Like… I honestly would have thought that men would at least elevate their fetishes above most anything else.

Just when you think you might be starting to figure things out, you realize you probably never will.

If I could only like that a million times, Ema!

                    That is absolutely perfect.

What I was trying to say is that nobody cares who uses which restroom.

I’ve also seen women not want to wait for “their” toilet and occupied the “men’s” instead. I didn’t bat an eye or assault her. In jest, who would ever assault someone in a public bathroom.

The “non gendered” washrooms make thr most sense to me.

if ya gotta go, ya gotta go.

                      peace be with you.
