Screeming Jay Hawkins - I Put A Spell On You
Originally posted by Babe View PostHi untouched,
Joss Stone can really belt out that song AND look quite delicious singing it wearing that sexy, tight gown.
Have you heard the original from Screaming Jay Hawkins, the guy who wrote the song back in 1956?
No one does it like him.
Babe,
xoxo

Deep Purple ( Mach 1) - April
April is a cruel time
Even though the sun may shine
And the world looks in the shade
as it slowly comes away
Still falls the April rain
And the valley's filled with pain
And you can't tell me quite why
As i look up to the
Grey sky where it should be blue
Grey sky where I should see you
Ask why, why it should be so
I'll cry, say that I don't know
Maybe once in a while I'll forget and I'll smile
But then the feeling comes again of an April without end
Of an April lonely as they come
In the dark of my mind I can see all too fine
But there is nothing to be done when I just can't feel the sun
And the springtime's the season of the night
Grey sky where it should be blue
Grey sky where I should see you
Ask why, why it should be so
I'll cry, say that I don't know
I don't know

This Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town, and Free - Alright Now
Babe,Originally posted by Babe View PostHi Mike
I had never heard those tunes - actually, i should say i haven't heard much from Lizzy, at all.
As far back as i can remember, Thin Lizzy never wrote another song that had so many fantastic hooks as The Boys Are Back, except for Jailbreak, maybe.
I remember first hearing The Boys Are Back and thinking , "Wow, most excellent tune. That classic opening, sort of, reminds me of the opening chords of Free's - Alright Now.
They reach out and grab you by the ear then and slap your face. You know what i mean by that? They're catchy.

Did you know that Thin Lizzy was uncredited for playing the music for,
Funky Junction - Play a Tribute to Deep Purple album. The producers chose another singer and keyboardist, though.
