Bill C-428 will allow recent immigrants to apply for OAS in 3 years instead of the existing 10 years!!!





This bill had first reading in the house on June 18, 2009. IT WAS SECONDED BY BOB RAE!! (Booby Rae is still finding ways to spread our money all over the place). MP Ms Ruby Dhalla who introduced the bill represents the riding of Brampton whose population is mainly East Indian. Right now you have to have lived in Canada for 10 years in order to qualify for Old Age Security. She wants the time reduced to 3 years! Thousands could come to Canada when they are 62 years old ..... never having worked or contributed to this county's tax system etc, ........... and qualify for full Old Age Security benefits in 3 years! 10 years minimum is reasonable. THREE (3) is NOT!

I have looked this up and you can too. Google C-428 and you will see this bill has only one purpose, to featherbed a select group of people for votes.

I certainly hope this bill does not get passed. It is about time we called our elected MP's to ask them to NOT support this bill. Their response may be one factor in helping us determine who gets elected in the next election.

What Can You Do?

1. Spread the message to family, friends and e-mail buds.

2. Write letters , send e-mails to all your list, and call or contact Members of Parliament

It is time Canada looked after it's Vets and long-term citizens before inventing ways to toss OUR hard-earned money around on people who have no right to this money, never having paid taxes or contributed to our economy. If a family wishes to bring elderly relatives here .... and are willing to waive their own right to collect these funds in order that the elderly relatives can receive them ... fine ... otherwise .... look after them yourself and do not expect the Canadian taxpayers to do it.






There are too many people legally and illegally abusing the generosity of the Canadian people. We need to stop the madness....NOW!

No i am saying the power and wealth has been in the hands of european settlers in the US because they were the majority of the population for hundreds of years.
Elected offiicals are suspiously of european descent because they have been the majority of population for hundreds of years.

I am not arguing whether they oppressed anyone or not. I am just saying they have controlled the wealth and power from the beginning. So, yes it would be a long time before immigrants would get into the higher paying jobs etc. However because people of european descent have held the wealth so long it is pretty obvious that they can afford to send their children to school easier etc.
They pass their wealth down to their children.
The people with the money donate it to support their own causes such as political parties.

Some, not all, blacks were brought to America as slaves that's a fact.
The fact is they had no wealth until hundreds of years later and they did not have citizen status,
they were considered chattel. They were still a very small percentage of the population regardless.
Now anyone can have citizen status and things are changing faster every day.

It takes time for things to change.
Majority has always ruled minority, why should this be any different?
Wealth has always ruled poverty.

Is it a coincidence that the mexicans speak spanish?
No, the wealth was controlled there by the Spanish for years.
Did they opress the Mexican nationals, yes.
Show me a ruling majority in history that didn't opress someone somehow.
Show me a country in the world that has fully beaten this sort of structure.
Probably Canada and the USA are the closest of any country.
But it takes time.
The Romans once opressed the Christians, now the Roman Catholic church is one of the biggest religious sects in the world.

I would say by 2800AD everyone will be pretty much the same.
White and black probably won't even exist.
Most of the world is Chinese and Indian.

This is all simple political ideas.
People discuss this shit in University classes all the time without getting their panties in a knot.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US ... Yet if there were 'White colleges', that would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists..

That's normal. You got the same thing in Canada. You even have French Canadians and English Canadians. People tend to regroup themselves along common traits, race&ethnic origins are often one.

Political statement. It serves a cause for a minority in a country to declare themselves abused by the majority, be it reality of perceived reality.

Given that higher education is hard to access for many black students who happen to be poorer than the rest of the population, it's not a bad thing to have UNCF. There a gazillions of funds like this in US and Canada for various groupes of people. You got college fund for people coming out of high school and studying business admin, ingeenering, etc. You got university funds for people attending insurance related programs, you got some for people from a specific region, you got tons of this really. Having one specifically for poor blacks isn't bad, especially if it helps them stay out of poverty, move out of the ghetto and avoid gangs.

As for Martin Luther King Day, well, it mostly concerns blacks given the track record of the man... but, how is this racist? AFAIK, the 4th of July celebrates the birth of America, the 1st of July celebrates the birth of Canada, and I can't remember any of these people being black. Is the 1st July only for white, french and english speaking Canadians?

Again with the above. Tons of special days. I once had a Catholic calendar, and I can't remember having one day that wasn't a religious day. Is this wrong? Should Protestants feel threathened by Catholics because they have a day to Celebrate St-Andrew?

The second one is pure marketing. You know, minority&all? There is no "Muslim entertainment channel" in Tunisia. But you'll find channels wich aim their programming at French people. Just as you'll find in Canada television for many cultures (check your cable listing)
The first one, is again, related to the minority status, where people try to reach higher than where they are.
If you had a White Pride Day where you want the Whites to be in control of the country and above any other "race", yes, that would be racist. Excluding people and treating them as second class citizens because of religion, color or language spoken is just wrong.

Black Colleges are titles inherited from the time where blacks could not attend "College" as it was forbidden by law, even though it wasn't called "White College". These colleges are open to whites, hispanics, green and pinks (well, maybe not pinks depending where it is...)

because, mostly it's not the same. You can be proud of being white, but what does that mean? I'm proud of being French-Canadian and speaking my language in a country that's been historically hostile to us. If I was in a wheelchair and I won a race against other people in a wheelchair, I'd be proud. If, standing on my two legs as I am I'd won a race against people in wheelchairs, I don't think I could derive any pride in that.

Minorities tend to stick together, and there's always a specific lobby for them, and lobbies are vocals. When a lazy worker gets fired in a shop, the Union defends him/her. When a black gets arrested/killed, his lobby will defend him.

It always depend on what you are proud of. Proud of being what you are, proud of your origins? Proud of your culture, your language? I see nothing wrong about that. But White Pride as a different meaning, and when you look at people who call themselves "Proud to be white", it's usually proud of Apartheid.

Chris Rock had a joke about Race in America. After a show he had just done, he was in the Theater and there was an older one-eyed, one-armed White guy sweeping up the ground. He asked the guy if he would trade places with him and the White guy said no. He wanted to "ride this White thing out". it is to my understanding that racism can only be rooted from people who have a position of power. it's for most forms of oppression. there's a structure called the Triangle of Oppression that illustrates how individual thoughts, actions and institutional collaborate to construct stereotypes and ideas of how minorities work.
do I personally think that other races can be racist against "whites", yes only because based upon my understanding to have the position of power, in North America, there are many people of many races who have power.
