You made a very good point and I will use the same example you provided. The porn industry is always going to be there with the only difference that to become successful in the industry today, you have to come up with something authentic and new to gain more audience given the fierce competition!

It is easy to notice that a lot of porn these days is just overtly fake and not convincing to the average viewers. But there are still few porn website that deliver something authentic and specialized towards certain fetishes and they have their own followers. In other words, using the 80s and 90s tactics are not helpful these days.

The same applies for escorting. It is not enough these days to put a couple of pictures there to attract clients. You have to bring something new and convince the people that you are authentic. Speaking of authenticity and as you have alluded, photo shopping is a major drawback. I can sympathize with minor touches which are very common even for movie stars, but I really can't understand the benefits of excessive photo shopping that I see in some ads. As you correctly pointed out, once the words are spelled out, the involved provider will be affected.

I also heard from many clients that they will never see a provider with heavily touched pictures unless she also display non photoshopped pictures. So some clients are smart enough to figure that out and some choose to follow the illusions!

Natural market forces have caused the supply to meet or exceed demand.

Also in Canada the barriers to entering the tgirl escort market have decreased.
Relaxed escort laws, easier access to free advertising and the reach of the internet.
Also there is still little enforcement of escort licensing and taxation.
No equipment or education is required to escort, so theoretically any attractive person can do it.

When there is few barriers to entry markets become over supplied and prices drop.
The elasticity of demand has decreased and the amount you can charge compared to the average is limited.
Plus this product is fairly homogenous so there is not much differentiation between providers really.
This is where service and reliability really pays.
