He is no different than 1980s TV preachers or the dozens of other phony healers in Brazil each with their own bag of carny tricks just Oprah gave him extra press for her sea of already credulous fans who are neck deep into Doctor Oz scams.

Why even bother to go to Brazil? Just go find those online Nigerian spell casters and pay them to heal you with sorcery. The results will be the same.
It's true that he canNOT save everybody's life. According to my client, one of his friends, finally ended up deceased anyway (after leaving the place)
But from his personal experience, it's truly miracle to meet and be saved by him (read: spirit)

It's actually THE SPIRIT who saves and helps people there. This guy is in trance. His eyes are closed, only the white part shown.
Those who have to undergo "surgery" will be sent to recovery room. Those who only need mental help will be sent to meditation room.
He was sent to both, first to recovery room, then to meditation room. In meditation room, he truly did felt the power and energy surroundings his body.

I just tell you what he told me.

Believe it or not, it's all up to you.

Anyway, I truly hope Mandy is recovering very soon. Goodhandys will not be the same without her

This guy is a purveyor of the Placebo effect.
It has been proven that the placebo effect along with positive thinking can be more powerful than many pharmaceutical drugs.
In some cases patients will respond the same with placebo medicine as they do with the real stuff, if they think it will help them.
Watch this show, the studies are incredible.

Anyway, this type of of thing will work for people that have internal illnesses, not caused by a foreign substance being put in their body. This type of practitioner would most likely only be effective to people with natural illness like cancer or tumors.
You cannot convince your body to attack silicone cells because it doesn't know what the hell it is.
You can tell your body to kill cancer because it is a natural occurrence known to your immune system.
Loads of silicone appearing in your system suddenly is not an occurrence of nature.
The best your body can do is reject it, but that is not a desired effect in this case.

I wish the best for Mandy, but I doubt this guy could do anything.
She needs a real surgeon that has dealt with this before, plain and simple.

Faith will not remove foreign substances from the body!

I totally agree with Crag?s position on the issue of the placebo effect on the human mind.

Additionally, I believe this ?John of God? and his procedures might best be considered as being comparable to those of charlatans and religious faith healers, who amass great fortunes by preying upon the desperate.

In this particular case, that silicone must be considered as a foreign substance lodged in the flesh. No amount of faith or spirituallity will dislodge that silicone any more than it could remove a bullet (also a foreign object) lodged in a muscle! Only physical removal of the foreign material can remedy the problem.

The only faith needed here should be faith in the surgeon?s expertise!

She is in ICU. She has been honest to her doctors and told them that she had it done. They are trying to treat her and have not once judged her for her choice. She knew the risks going in and is not crying poor me. She is now trying to treat it and deal with it as best as any of us could in that situation.

Thank you Shelby I will give you a call in a bit.

My views on silicon are simple. It is a choice. She & I have both made the choice to have it done. I choose only to do my lips others have made different choices. But again it is a choice. Like any medical choice you make for yourself it comes with risks. Taking hormones is very risky but we all do it. Going under the knife also can have risks but we still do it. Whatever someones choice and reasons for doing anything with there body it is no ones place to judge. As long as you are informed of the risks and make an educated decision for yourself on what you choice to do, then again it is your personal choice.

          Thank you
          Tasha
iv had two sessions on my ass and hips about one hour after i had a mild fever and body weakness but that was about it you would never be able to tell i had it done .... where did she have it done ?

              She is getting better

I hesitate to even comment on this thread, because it's so typical "message board nonsense" with name calling, etc.

BUT I read all 7 pages, and within those pages, I know there are a lot of people with genuine care and respect for Mandy. And I appreciate those who were sending research and links and advice. Luckily the doctors at St. Mike's were very open minded and they used their tremendous resources to contact other hospitals and doctors around the world to discuss treatment options (and yes, steroid treatment is pretty much the only accepted treatment in this situation).

I would like to update you that she is out of the hospital, on the mend, without needing oxygen, and she had an incredible experience at St Michael's hospital.

Her latest radio show is all about her healing, and progress, and also about how important it is for trans women to be honest, and not scared, when seeking medical attention.

You can listen in her own words, and take what you will from it.

I know she appreciates the support, and hope those of you who care, continue to care, and send positive vibes her way. I strongly believe that she will have a 100% full recovery, while also knowing that there are always unpredictable risks that can happen later. But so far, excellent recovery.

Here is the 2nd radio show: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/goodhan...-on-the-fringe

And here is the 1st one, which was recorded live from the ICU in St Mike's. I find both of these shows to be extremely inspiring, and a testament to the importance of positive thinking in the face of adversity.
