It took me a while to decipher his article but I think Conrad Black's opinion of Rob Ford is word for word (no pun intended) exactly what Grag's been stating.
I'd also have to agree with them, Mr. Ford may have made some stupid personal decisions but there's no proof he has failed to or is incapable of doing the job he was elected to.

If this is the case, why doesn't Rob Ford take it to the Court?

I didn't read everybody's point of view. To me the comparisons don't matter. I see it this way...when we elect people to act, represent us, make decisions on our behalf...they should be preferably sober and held to a higher moral standard. That's right, if I tell a lie that doesn't mean you can lie to! They should have a respect for themselves and to the people who've elected them to represent us, to be our voice. There is no blaming the media, media didn't hold the bottle to your lips or fill the crack pipe for ya and make you smoke. Another reason to maintain a high standard, you yourself open the door for the vermin, chomping at the bit...waiting in line to take your job. Mr Ford did it all on his very own. And who's saying the next in line is any better? Not me! Not until they get caught red handed on a video!

I've seen heavy pot smokers and I'll tell ya, they are whacked and out to lunch!! A lil puff in the morning, one at lunch, go home end of day put your feet up...'nother lil puff. I'm not saying this is Fords habits all I'm saying here is unless used properly pots is not all it's cracked up to be either. Mix with a lil' bit of cocaine and alcohol and you have a disaster waiting to happen. So, we have a functioning alcoholic who occasionally uses drugs with his alcohol! How much longer before he does something really stupid? I had buddies were high on pot and alcohol who threw dirt into engine intakes of an airplane...they got caught to and all went to military jail for a few years. Hummm...

One of the developing problems for people like Ford with his behaviour...blackmail. Another reason to stay out of trouble. Down the road I believe 100% we will see where contracts have been awarded to company's or persons in position of certain information or videos depicting this behaviour.

This isn't about having a few drinks with the buds, or a lil white lie to the wife, this is alcohol and drug induced behaviour from the mayor of our largest city! Where do we draw the line in forgiving and accepting bad behaviour from our electors? Pedophilia? Necrophilia? He's gotta go!

So everyone immediately attacked him saying he missed it because he was high or drunk.
The fact was he had to sneak in the back elevator of the hotel due to the media waiting for him in the front.
As a result the elevator stalled for 45 minutes and he was stuck in the elevator and missed the lunch speech.
The president of the club he was speaking to was also caught in the elevator with him.
Yet the public is crying that he did on purpose or he was too loaded to make on time or whatever.

This guy is a colourful character and everyone who voted for him knows that.
Half the stuff the media digs up is just bullshit.
People keep going on and on because a staffer picked up some lightbulbs for him once.

Addictions, whether to alcohol or drugs can happen to any us but the biggest danger here is not Ford’s addiction to various chemicals but his underworld relationships. If he hasn’t already, I predict that eventually Ford will be inclined to undertake some venture or make some decision that favours his underworld associates rather than the very public that elected him to be their protector!

Fortunately for the citizens of Toronto, the police surveillance of Lisi served to illustrate the mayors sleazy behaviours, like the photos of him sneaking away to drink in the bush during office hours with his felonious bud, Lisi and leaving their trash behind!

The dangers of association with underworld characters such as he regularly continues to enjoy, will, in my mind, be the undoing. I ask, How can a “Chief Magistrate” ever be “best bud” to a convicted felon and hang out with him and others of that kind on a regular basis? Additionally, Ford continues to show a definite lack of respect for the position to which he has been elected. I am making perfect sense. My comment about Ford and Manson wasn't about comparing the two...it's about people blind to see the truth. Toronto has gang problems, gangs are associated with drugs and violence, innocent people get hurt and killed because of and by them. Drug dealers are one prong below child molesters and killers.
