Normally I find I agree with you Fantasia but not this time. I'm sure the shivering homeless guy was interested in the cops humorous face or condescending tone of voice to see if he's kidding or not. Maybe the homeless guy has mental issues? When out in public it's allowed by law to take photos or videos of another person and post it whether they like it or not. Otherwise the cop would have confiscated the phone and could have arrested him. But don't put an untruth on it or then you could be in trouble. If the homeless guy said to the cop "leave me alone or I'll tie you to the post", well...guess where he's gonna end up...SLAMMER! But probably not before the cop body slams him and calls for backup. Law enforcement officers jobs are to serve and protect...who protects us from the bad ones?

I was driving in New York State and the speed limit down there always confuses me for a couple of hours until I adjust. I am flying down the highway singing at the top of my lungs to the radio, when I noticed I was speeding. To be honest, I noticed the flashing lights in my rear view and then realized I was speeding. I pull over to the side and stop, and the officer approaches my car. I decide to help to speed things up by getting my papers out from the glovebox. (Im Canadian Remember) BIG MISTAKE. State Trooper ran up next to my driver side window, pulled his gun in my face yelling "Miss, Get your Hands on the wheel". Which turned into "Miss, step out of the car" and cost me almost 2 hrs of time and I talked my way out of them impounding my car.


Moral of the story, cops are on edge...don't mess with them.

I guess it depends which states, but the speed limits south of us all the way to Cali scared the shit out of me, Utah was 80 mph in areas, most were 70-75 through some pretty wicked mountain passes. White knuckle adventure for sure! Got back into Alberta, felt like I could get out and walk faster than I was driving, that sucked!
Shyla.... Did you get patted down and was found to be hiding a concealed weapon? Lol I had to ask.

It started with me crying, "Please don't shoot me!". I was laid down on the highway, the searched my car, asked me a load of weird questions. This was one of those moments where I was happy I had no drugs on me.

I just wasn't paying attention more than it was a mph problem. I got clocked at 88mph in a 60mph zone about 180$ if I remember...which you also have to pay on the spot.

I guess it all depends how a person is raised or something to either respect authority or to question it. For me it is pretty simple ,if police question you and then place you under arrest you DON'T resist. Think you haven't done anything wrong, that they have the wrong person, etc DON'T resist arrest. Take your ride get processed and released. Go pay your fine or get your lawyer and show up in court if it gets that far. The police are not there to try your case or your guilt or innocence in the street.

And now that everyone with a Smartphone and a YouTube account is an investigative reporter and camera man. Take your videos but get in between the police and the individual they are trying to arrest? Well take your ride and get your lawyer too that's called "obstruction of justice".

If it's a weekend you very well could be locked up for the entire weekend until you go to court to plea. If you plea innocent then a court date is set and you could be locked up until that court date. Unless you can afford bail or if someone puts it up for you, you could spend weeks or months in remand. Courts are very busy. The Judge May or may not release you on your recognizance even if innocent of a crime. A whole new can of worms. It's never a good situation.

Besides that yes it's inconvenient and sucks. People who resist arrest risk being treated roughly, having extra charges laid (resisting arrest, assaulting an officer) or worst case scenario it turns into a stand off and you end up with 20 bullet holes in you for waving around a pocket knife or broomstick!
