Interesting comments from your lawyer, Shyla. No big surprise that the Conservatives enacted the legislation and then the Liberals do sweet FA to change it inspite of campaign promises. Both parties are the same for the most part and back each others legislation in spite of campaign promises to the contrary. Of course, they both have their pet agendas i.e. Liberals with gun control and attack on religous beliefs, to name two.

As I said in an earlier post in this thread, this country spends more time with internal squabbling over BS issues rather than focusing on the issues at hand and trying to work together to resolve them.

I guess Crag will have to relocate to another country because according to Bill C-36 he is a henious criminal.

        Super work FBI

Kudos to the FBI et al for really ending prostitution in America, I'm sure that will be the end of that!
SMC is great service, just needs to be better at displaying current ads, ie who is available RIGHT NOW when I am in need!

Not really....nothing is presently enforced in Canada. Like I previous said, no one on parliment hill wants an escort to reveal her client list. It is in the best interests of everyone for the status quo to continue.

As for Crag being a criminal....as escorts we dont pay for ads, all ads are verified, certain girls have paid for photo verification, few fakes exist, and he operates barely making a penny. If Crag was forced to go to court, I would be the first Transwoman in that courtroom to help defend him and I am sure that other decent girls would come forward. Many have already sung the benefits of SMC vs BP on this very thread and all of us have made tons of money off SMC over the years.

The Law is VERY specific about how websites fit it. The conservative government is to blame for the confusion. Presently the only thing legal in canada is escorting, but you cannot advertise, the client is criminalized, websites are liable...as per the confusing law the conservatives passed. Also, any girl working in canada without A Work visa and without Canadian citizenship risks being grouped under human trafficking and deportation.

This is taken directly from Bill C-36.

The advertising offence targets persons who place advertisements in print media or post advertisements on websites. Publishers or website administrators could be held criminally liable as parties if they know of the existence of the advertisement and that the advertisement is in fact for the sale of sexual services. Bill C-36 also allows the court to order the seizure of materials containing advertisements for the sale of sexual services, as well as their removal from the Internet, regardless of who posted them, which is also consistent with Bill C-36’s objective of reducing demand for prostitution.

            http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/o...rotect/p1.html

Our personal escort websites, Shemale Canada, and pretty much any escort based site is now at risk.

A website is responsible for its content according to Bill C-36 Section II.B under Advertising Offence. The Liberal government proposed to modify C-36 but that is a compaign promise that died and was never even brought up for debate.

The US copied our law regarding website and advertising, and as such now can work TOGETHER. Lastly, these laws in Canada are meant to target street workers, minors, sex traffickers, victims of sex traffickers, illegal immigrants working in Canada without the proper paperwork etc. Not someone that is running a business, pays taxes, stay at home woman that does this from the privacy of their homes.
This is not new at all and they haven't really charge anyone with it really.
So it hasn't passed any challenges, so it isn't really active I would say.
Plus it was enacted by the previous government with no support from the opposition.
Plus every lawyer can give you a different interpretation of it.

There is no new risk from Canadian law, it is possible US could take over domains they own if they choose to.
Althought there is legal hoops they need to jump through to affect each site and they probably have a harder time against non-us citizens.

It would be cool if there was a feature where you could turn it off or on to say if you?re available

Yes but Bill C-36 is law and my lawyer pointed me directly to that section I previously posted.

To say there is no risk from Canada is strange considering that C-36 is Law. It is true that our government doesn?t enforce the new laws....or do they?

Like you previously said, its hard to predict how far the USA can reach, but they copied our law and are presently enforcing it in the US concerning website liability.

At the bottom of your update page there is a button to hide your ad.

Who said Shemale Canada is not at risk?
I was trying to say NO ONE HAS BEEN PROSECUTED UNDER THIS LAW SO IT HAS NOT BEEN CHALLENGED SUFFICIENTLY.

There is various interpretations of the law i have read.

That is possible but how long would it be active for?
                        1-2 hours?
Maybe one hour and you have to keep manually updating it?

Maybe have auto accept appointment feature like Air BnB.
This happened to me on Air BnB
I rented a condo and the site confirmed it was available and booked.
Yet the owner had no idea that I had actually booked it.
I showed up at the property and it wasn't available.

i meant kind of like how messengers show you?re online only something to show you?re presently available. Clearly clients just showing up without confirmation from a girl could be a safety risk... it was meant just for the sole purpose of showing availability

I think the best would be something you would click every hour to show you are currently available.
Showing you are online is not the same as being available for an appointment.

I was just making fun of Air BnBs auto confirm feature.
How can you auto confirm something when the proprietor is not available.
