    Goalies

    41 JAROSLAV HALAK
    31 CAREY PRICE

So the HABS have made some changes too. The Saku Koivu era is at an end which brings me to the first question. Who should take the role as captain? Carey Price is the go to guy. Personally I think it's his make it or break it year. I can see him being sent down if he doesn't produce. Travis Moen, love him or hate him he's going to be a thorn in many peoples sides.

and .... thank god they got rid of Kovalev, he's just going to do the same thing with his new team like he has in the past, he'll start off strong, get comfortable then just not do much of anything.

How far will the HABS go? I'm thinking they will make the playoffs but wont advance too far.

    *crosses fingers!

86 was a miracle with over a dozen rookies. That's when I became a fan.
93 was unbelievable with 11 OT wins. I still got the championship poster in my room.

It's a long season, upsets can happen, and who knows what trades can happen later in the season. I am optimistic.

Nah. I predict that the LEAFS defence will crumble, they'll then acquire some old fart on his last legs to fill the gap and then blame the GM for all their troubles.

        AGAIN.....

        LMAO!

Well.......I'd rather have Gomez then Hal Gill any day.

Be honest now HockeyFan. I admit that Gomez may be a gamble but I'd rather have Gomez who can post some points rather than Gill who can't skate, can't pass, coughs up the puck and .....my god .... he can't even FIGHT and he's a giant!

Yeah the Habs took a hard loss to Van 7-1 on Oct 7th but like in everything what goes around comes around.

Well, to be honest, I was saying it because with Gomez gone, the Rangers were able to afford Gaborik. Plus Higgins has looked very good so far.

Oh, and yeah, Hal Gill is an abortion of a hockey player.

Yeah well the Oilers will also lose some games too.

Here's a question to everyone, not just Habs fans. Does anyone out there think that eventually someone will get 100 goals a season?

The closest anyone got to that was Gretzky back in 1982 with 92 goals.

I lost a bet saying that Gretz would do it. Technically I havent yet paid my bother yet. I am hoping for a come back now that he is no longer coaching. If this didnt happen in the 80's it wont happen now.

Maybe in 50 some-odd years. The closest I see is OV with 70+ and that is reaching.

                        BTW, Rangers >>> Canadian six.

For a player to score a 100 goals, he needs to play with a team that's an offensive Juggernaut. Like the Oilers in the 80s. Gretzky was great, but he wouldn't have broken a lot of those scoring records if the rest of his team was Mediocre. One-on-one, I think that Mario Lemieux was a better individual player.

                            Bobby Orr is the G.O.A.T.

And after watching the Habs last few games. Sorry Montreal fans but you guys look like the Rangers of last season minus the elite goaltending. Defensive minded coach, average D, terrible Offense, shit PP.

Orr revolutionized the game. It would have been interesting to see him play in the 80s - early 90s.
