Orr who is the Greatest Player I have ever seen, would have dominated no matter what era he played in. Nobody could skate like Orr and he also had the vision that Gretzky had. He also had a tremedous point shot. As far as penalty killing goes, he would sometimes kill the PK off by himself.

When is a Defenceman ever going to Win a Scoring Title and also able to get back into the Play to be Super in his own end.

We will never see another Orr, or Gretzky or Lemieux or Howe.

He blocked shots and he was as tough as they come.

I grew up a Bruins fan. So up until the 80?s I never had any illusion that Orr was the greatest of all time. That was until I saw Gretxky night after night. When you watched him live you would see so many things he did that were never caught on TV. But lets be honest if you are starting a team and were to get either one of them you are years ahead in your teams development.
As for can anyone else come along to be mentioned with the hockey Gods above. When Ovechkin finishes his career he will be in the discussion.

          ...

Funny. No one mentioned any of the greats from the Habs. I've been scolded many times for this but I've seen Orr play. Frankly I think he was just a .prototype of players to come in the future, the offensive defenceman as it were. Just my thoughts. Compare this with people such as Denis Potvin....Paul Coffey ... Ray Bourque.

Now as for forwards how can anyone forget the flower Guy Lafleur

They were all good players in their own right, but they never dominated the game the way Orr, Gretsky, and Lemieux did.

I think If you could put 5 Gretskys on the ice, against 5 Orrs or 5 Lemieuxs... the Gretskys would lose. Because much of his greatness was reliant on being surrounded by other good players. The Oilers would have won Stanley Cups, with or without Gretzky. Perhaps not as many without him. He wasn't a very strong skater, or physical player. I don't think he would have looked impressive One-on-one, against either Orr or Lemieux. Or Maybe not even against Jaromir Jagr, for that matter.

                Hah

                Well well well.

Ain't this all interesting. I do believe I said Montreal might not be as good as they were a few seasons ago but that they'd still be better than then Leafs. Can't deny that can ya? LOL

Oh and by the way I think people ought to watch out for MIKE CAMMALLERI. It's as if he had just came out of nowhere and is racking up points. He had a great game on Oct 25th, perhaps it was just his night but you never know.

The fans also seem to love D'AGOSTINI

Yeah how about that Kovalev. what's he doing? Nothing. Just like ....just like....

                Tomas Kaberle.....LOL ...LOL.....

What a game last Saturday night! I was at a strip club in the front row and my eyes were darting back and forth between the stage and big screen tv. When Cammeleri scored the OT winner, I slapped my hand on the table and yelled "YES!". My eyes were glued to the screen as they showed the replay and I completely forgot about the girl.

Higgins and the rest of the Habs has-beens, Koivu, Kovalev, Lang, Tanguay.et al are all having a miserable start with other teams. Gomez, Gionta and Cammalerri will let every Habs fan soon forget about them if they haven't already.

Ok Saku Koivu was probably one of the better Habs over the decade. He did a lot for the team and the city and some people NEVER gave him a break even after his fight with cancer.

Thats the only player who I feel Montreal owes a great deal of respect too....the others you mention....well, yes, they were has beens.

                          Make Mike the Captain

His second hat trick of the season. When he's hot he just can't miss. Anyone with me on this when I say the HABS should make Cammalleri the captain.
