As far as that goes, I think I just missed out on his 4 point night last night.

I would like to reactivate Claude Giroux and release Jaromir Jagr.

Shyla, since I haven't really heard more on Claude Giroux's recovery, I will have no choice but to place him on IR and sign....

So are you saying that because he returned to action last night and I didn't request that he be reactivated immediately, I flat out released him? It doesn't say that on page 1 of this hockey pool thread where I assume all the info concerning the rules and such of this pool is current and accurate...but the rules concerning players on IR is in the middle of a 30+ page thread?

How's this...I dealt with this situation concerning Pronger in the preseason. I am not a dictator.

I will allow the other GM's to decide your fate and the faith of Giroux. This will come to a vote. This leaves 7 votes. 4 votes either way will decide the fate of this.

So GM's a vote of yes or keep for those in favour of Madchild's Objection.

Or a vote of No or Release for those in Favour of the League rules.

If no decision can be reached but Sunday (lack of votes) then the league decision will stand. Lastly, if the Gm do vote to keep, then I will completely remove Jagr from your record (Pts included) as his overlap will cause a problem with the stats.

Madchild, I want you to understand the reason I made this rule. It was for GM's to be active with their teams. Therefore, a GM that is active enough to place a player on IR should also be active enough to make the proper adjustments when the time was right.

I totally understand why you allowed IR moves. It does make the game much more fun and active if a GM so chooses. My beef, however, is not with the rule itself, but the fact that the rule is incomplete.

Yes I modified the first post to include all the rules. The Players drafted and signed are also there.

The first post on page 1 on the rules does not indicate that if a player who is placed on IR is not activated by the day he is cleared/scheduled to play, then he is considered "released". In my mind, that is quite a significant point to leave out of what I consider to be the "official rules" of this pool. But rather that important piece of info is buried on page 15 of a 30 page thread.

All the rules states is that once a player is cleared to play, he must be removed from IR, which is what I have done. When I asked for Giroux to be reactivated, it was just that. To be reactivated effective today and I would release Jaromir Jagr. And that moving forward, any points he scored would be mine. I acknowledged the fact that I would not be eligible for the 4 points he scored last night because obviously I wouldn't be since I did not activate him yesterday.

Although I do appreciate you allowing this to go to a vote, that probably wouldn't be necessary. Why?

1. Your pool, your rules. Even though I find the IR part to be inconsistent.
2. We're all in a friendly competition here, so why would the other GM's vote in my favour? (I fully expect them to vote in favour of league rules and I will just take it that the other GM's are afraid of my picks )
3. Like myself, I don't think the other GM's are logged into this forum 24/7 so you probably wouldn't see much in regards to voting, especially during this weekend with it being Christmas and all.
4. I expect something like this to happen again, so if you do this for me, then you will have to do it for someone else. And to change a rule when we're almost halfway through the season seems silly.

I'll just chalk it up to me not reading. For next time, I now know I will have to go through every posting on this thread to make sure there aren't some other rule hiding somewhere before I make a move to my roster.

Please understand I wasn't trying to be difficult, but it was just some inconsistencies that lead to this.

But now you have brought up a good point, how are you going to close this "loophole" when it comes to game time decisions for an injured player?

Anyways, I don't think you have to worry about me catching up to you. I'd be more worried about Crag! The Sedin twins are on fire...and he has both!! How the heck did he pick them both up?? Lucky guy!

For 1 simple decision. This was a gametime choice. Therefore unless you were in the locker room, there was no way to know if he was to be active or not. Meaning you had under 5 minutes to fix your roster issue.

Shyla, having you fuck me silly is my fantasy for a while but it seems that you have gone soft.

Let Madchild keep Giroux since that is your decision. I would hate to be in Madchild's position with a star player on IR, however it doesn't change the fact that I recently sat on Pronger for about 2 weeks worried that he would return unannounced at a game time decision and yielding zero points for that period. I wouldn't have if game time decisions didn't count.

Business has taught me never to raise issues unless you bring a solution to the table so here are 2 ideas, perhaps the GM's can agree on something IR players.

1) Player signed to repace the IR is automatically released once the IR steps on the ice.

2) GM has 1 game grace period to return the IR player to roster or he is then automatically released. Points for the first game back are from the replacement player.
