This will be my last post and pool update until the 14th of January. I will be vacationing in Brazil for the next ten days. and for this reason I will have to place a roster freeze until my return.

Anyways, have fun, enjoy the Canadian weather and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

As stupid and sad as this sounds, Crosby should retire before he becomes Pat Lafontaine or Eric Lindros. At his age, he as won the Hart, the Art Ross, The Stanley Cup, World Junior Championship, scored the winning gold at the Olympic gold medal game. Better that he retires now while he can still remember that he did those things.

He has nothing to prove.

Sometimes the best thing to do is not the best thing for the game.

We laughed at Eric Lindros when he complained about the headshots, we laughed at Lemieux about the hooking and interference, we laughed when Gretzky called for the banning of fighting. THEY WERE ALL RIGHT!

Hockey is the only sport in which fighting is allowed. I could care less about the fact that players get a 5 minutes major. THAT IS BULLSHIT. Why? Simple. You fight in baseball, football, soccer or basketball you are thrown out and most likely suspended. Hockey? What a joke. Not only are you still in the game, but you can do it 2 more times before getting kicked out. And the chances of getting suspended for fighting 3 times in a game is basically zero. Hockey rules are a joke. Bettman took over and has cleaned up the product (holding, interference, etc) on the ice but is it really better? Now instead of players hooking and holding they have adjusted to high speed open ice collisions.

Hockey rules, officiating, and upper management is a joke. Just look at the realignment plan. Did they just pick teams out of a hat? So many teams were getting fucked it was a joke. And they tried to sell this as a great plan? Thank God the NHLPA figured it out.

I realized that the NHL was fucked in 1996. The Quebec Nords were selling out EVERY single game. No matter how bad the team was the fans were supporting it. Marcel Aubut held the city hostage for a new arena during a recession. Greedy and dirty. The worst part of this is that the NHL Board of Governors should have Vetoed this deal. IT WAS NOT GOOD FOR THE GAME. Instead the Nords became the Avs and won the Cup the first year in Colorado. Fuck you Quebec.

No owner will ever be allowed to move the Leafs, Habs, Bruins, Oilers, etc....Why was Aubut allowed to move that team?

Everyone always says how this is a business. Making money is the most important thing. Example - 1996 Quebec moves to Colorado and the Teachers union owning the Leafs. We expanded into the southern belt for more profit. The Florida teams survive due to the snow birds, Atlantla was a waste ...again, The Cali teams do well, but Phoenix is finished and Dallas is doing well.

The next time you hear someone related to the NHL tell talk to you about the fans, remember that the fans are not first.

Shyla, you are soooooooo right...........and now with Phoenix still in a flux, I'll bet that Bettman vetoes any move to Canada (Quebec especially)........look what he did when RIM wanted Phoenix..........Hamilton?..........no way.........another Canadian team?.........forget it.......Recent attendance results show that the 7 Canadian teams do better than the other 23 US based teams.........Bettman is the problem we don't get more Canadian based teams........most US based teams prefer football and basketball over that stupid game on ice.........I only hope to see another team in Quebec before I'm long gone........the rivalry was incredible...........and another team in Southern Ontario (Hamilton?) would be great to give the Leafs some competition.........

ahhh....Hamilton. The problem with Hamilton is not Toronto, as the city of Toronto can handle another team...It's Buffalo. Most of the crowd that crosses the border from Canada to Buffalo for the game would disappear and so would Buffalo. There is a better chance of a another team in toronto.
