First, charging higher rates doesn't necessarily mean more success in this business! there are several providers charging very high rates in Canada, but where are they? Are they staying in their base towns? Are they busy all the time? Didn't they make compromise at certain points to keep things going?
A travelling girl can always charge higher rates, but the real test if she really can charge the same rates over a long period in the same place without the need to re-locate.
When I made my last provincial tour I was fully booked before arrival in three places and nearly 60-70% booked on the remaining four places. Does that mean if I settle there, I would maintain the same volume after few weeks/months? I got a client who offered to double my rate to see me during the day time. Will the same client double my rate if I were living in the same city? So theoretically, I can during my tours increase my rates by at least 30%-50% and see a couple or three clients per day!
Also, some providers advertise for hourly rates and VIP hourly rates as marketing strategy. I had a very trustable client of mine who went to see a provider adverting for hourly rate of $300 and VIP hourly rate of $500. He selected the $300 option and did everything claimed to be in the VIP and stayed more than 90 min.
Second, charging the rate should consider the local economy. For example, an escort in Kingston charging $200 is relatively better than an escort charging $300 in Toronto given the overall all life expenses. The same applies to the power of the consumers. A client paying $200/hr in Kingston to see an escort is sharing more of his income compared to a client in Toronto.
Third, pricing after all is a provider's philosophy! Some providers want to have the upper hand in selecting their clients and some don't really bother. As you move higher in the hourly rate, you generally start to loose your power to decline clients because not too many now can afford your rates. At very high rates firing a client becomes risky and feared which could be stressful!
When I started escorting I charged 200/hr inclusive of my climax, and in less than a year I am at 270 "inclusive". I am still waiting to hit the point of equilibrium, but at the same time moving in gradual fashion.
My priority is to be able to have the upper hand in selecting my clients and to be able to have a large base of clientele in my base town without the need to travel every couple of months! And this is how I define success!
Just my thoughts on the issue.
