Back to the original post it is truly bizarre that at a time when gay men & women can easily be seen in most cities walking together, holding hands, kissing and now having public state sponsored wedding ceremonies that this stigma exists at all for trans women.

Who is really looking twice at a man & a woman out and about in public at a restaurant, bar,club, theatre, etc. etc, to check to see if one of them is trans or not?? Assuming a reasonable level of attractiveness an passability in their gender.

95% of this "stigma" exists only in the fear and paranoia ridden mind of trans attracted men. Professional athletes have begun coming out about their preferences and lifestyle choices and most find HUGE public and team support and not the ridicule that they feared. Trans attracted men need to realize that jock-talk, locker room hazing and banter and coffee time talk at their male dominated workplaces are not really how everyone thinks and feels. It is macho posturing old boys club stuff.

I'm sure many trans women feel they are living in the twilight zone as how can so many men find them that attractive and desirable and yet they cannot have normal relationships like everyone else in the hetero and gay world does!

I think transphobia (hate that term, hatred and fear are distinct) will disappear soon. Gays have had a strong movement/lobby for decades and are getting ahead now. 20 years ago, society was very homophobic, now not as much because of gay rights people. Trans simply need to be more militant as gays have been.

The thing is if a person is passable, then by definition nobody would notice. it's only non-passable TSs who would claim otherwise or have hang-ups on it. But then even I find it's largely people/areas of a liberal mindset who have no issues with TSs. the locker room stuff does depend on the friendship group or family, or the region of a country.
