Today CNN featured a story about a “Drawing Competition” which was won by a completely computer generated drawing. Needless to say, all the competitors with losing entries are pissed off...


According to CNN, the way the winning program works, the “artist” enters a phrase like "oil painting of an angry strawberry" (CNN’s example, not mine) and receives back several images from the AI system within seconds. For the winning entry, this process took more than 80 hours.

His goal was to get the program to generate images of women in frilly dresses and space helmets.

Okayyyy...

“Dr. Andy” is not one to judge as he has on many occasions spent more than 80 hours at his computer looking for pictures of women. Although never in “space helmets.”

You basically must only be able to afford a “ticket.” It also orbited at over 300 miles (482km) above Earth’s surface, higher than anything has flown in several decades.

But it was the following quote that gave me ideas:

Every year since 2014 “Dr. Andy” has hosted a Halloween party at his home in Zionsville. One year it got raided because a neighbor complained about the loud music. So, with one week to go I was looking for some activities for this year’s event and found this old postcard from 1900:
